LOCATION. Remote. Must be available during core hours (10am-6pm ET) with some occasional flexibility. Applicants may be asked to travel to sites where program is being implemented, up to 40% of the time (all costs covered by Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund). 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS. 

• $135,992 annualized salary

• Paid time off for all federal holidays and PTO accrued at a rate of 1.5 days per month

ROLE TYPE. This is a full-time, at-will, temporary role with benefits with an anticipated start date of Monday, 8/3 and end date of Friday, 12/4.

About the organizations

Vote Rev is a PAC that designs and quickly mainstreams field-tested voter engagement innovations to help Democrats win. Its sister organization, Vote Rev Action Fund (VRAF), works with and for nonprofits that amplify the power of historically disenfranchised communities. The two organizations design prototypes of new voter and civic engagement tactics, refine promising early-stage ideas, and then stress test those ideas, subjecting them to randomized controlled trials. Through this work, they develop new tactics to mobilize hard-to-reach voters.

In 2026, Vote Rev and VRAF will each run programs layering multiple friend-to-friend GOTV tactics simultaneously — ensuring voters in mission-aligned geographies hear from people they know, through multiple channels, in the final stretch before Election Day. They will also pilot newer ideas with the potential to be game-changing in 2028.

Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund have a shared staffing structure, and this role serves both organizations. Vote Rev and VRAF are based in Los Angeles, CA, with employees nationwide. About the opportunity

Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund are hiring a Director, Organizing and Partnerships to lead the deployment of two proven, scalable relational mobilization tactics, site-based vote tripling and site-based relational postcards, in coordination with allied movement organizations.

Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, this Director will be the operational lead on our partner and canvass relationships — managing high-stakes relationships with progressive organizations and paid canvass firms, ensuring fidelity to program design, and driving quality at scale. You'll work day-to-day with the Director of Programs and senior staff across our partner network.

Success in this role means thousands of canvassers implementing these tactics with high fidelity, millions of voter contacts generated, and thousands of additional votes moved in key geographies.

A successful candidate will have:

• 8+ years overseeing scaled organizing programs, including at least one cycle implementing relational organizing tactics
• A research mindset — eagerness to collaborate with researchers, incorporate findings into program design, and adapt quickly based on evidence
• Enthusiasm about providing progressive organizations and paid canvass firms with end-to-end support on how to implement tactics according to best practices, including supporting with goal setting, hands-on training, and technical assistance

Responsibilities

Partner relationship management and support

• Relationship cultivation and management. Develop and oversee relationships with senior stakeholders at partner organizations, and support them to implement tactics at scale, tailoring them to their goals and operations.

Program design and management

• Program management. Manage and ensure partners’ – and potentially Vote Rev or Vote Rev Action Fund’s own – program health through appropriate resource allocation, prioritization and focus, and identify key areas for improvement throughout the cycle. 
• Paid canvass management. Directly, or in support of partner organizations, vet, contract with, oversee the training of, and monitor the progress of paid canvass firms.
• Risk management and compliance. Work with the Director of Operations and legal counsel to develop systems for risk management.
• Quality control. Work with the Program Team to Design and implement strong systems to detect and prevent canvasser fraud and ensure program quality.
• Implementation of learning pilots. Potentially run small pilot(s) in state primaries to pinpoint the larger program’s scope, costs, best practices, and failure points.

People and project management

• People management. Possibly manage a 1-3 person team, depending on the scope of the project. Set a tone of engaged coaching and leadership for all direct reports, creating a positive, cohesive team environment focused on success and professional growth
• Project management. Track relationship development and progress to goal in agreed upon CRMs and goal trackers
• Collaborate with the Program team to ensure that best practices are applied

Fundraising momentum and buy-in

• Donor materials creation. Work with senior leadership to provide timely updates to donors and other stakeholders about program design and performance.

Documentation and learnings

• Reporting. Report out regularly to the Department Heads on program performance and outputs. 
• Documentation. Document all aspects of the program, from planning and execution to wind down. Develop and present a retrospective report at the end of the year.

Requirements for the role

• Campaign experience. Minimum 8 years in organizing, at Democratic political campaigns or movement organizations. Includes at least one year of campaign management on a federal or statewide race, or a leadership role (e.g., Organizing Director) on a statewide campaign or independent expenditure program.
• Partner management. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic conversations with senior stakeholders at campaigns, committees, and state tables. Experience managing professional relationships with external partners, vendors, or clients.
• Paid canvass experience. Multiple cycles vetting, contracting with, and overseeing paid canvass firms running large-scale programs.
• Program and team management. Experience managing budgets and scaling programs with complex logistics. Ability to guide a program to success under pressure, and to manage a small team (1-3 people) with a coaching orientation.
• Research mindset. No direct research experience required. We're looking for curiosity, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for adapting canvassing practices based on evidence — from both wins and failures.
• Communication. Proactive, clear communicator who bridges gaps across diverse stakeholder groups and ensures consistent follow-through.
• Availability. Available 10am–6pm ET core hours; flexibility required as Election Day approaches. Ability to travel to program sites up to 40% of the time (all travel costs covered).

Helpful but not required

• Experience with tactic development and research 
• Experience selling or providing customer support on consulting or strategic services to political organizations
