The client is a growing digital marketing and web agency specialising in SEO, AI search, Google Ads, social PPC, and digital experiences. They work with businesses across different industries and take a broader approach to digital performance, considering paid media, SEO, creative, websites, UX, CRO, and the overall customer journey.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Paid Media & Search Manager to take ownership of paid search and paid social performance across a diverse client portfolio.
While Google Ads and paid social are the primary focus, this role requires someone who understands the wider digital ecosystem and can identify whether performance issues relate to campaigns, tracking, creative, SEO, landing pages, UX, CRO, or the customer journey.
You will work closely with account managers, SEO, creative, and development teams, while also supporting client onboarding, account reviews, strategy, and performance improvement. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, analytical, proactive, and confident working independently at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, optimise, and oversee Google Ads campaigns across multiple client accounts
- Develop and implement strategies across Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display, YouTube, remarketing, lead generation, and eCommerce campaigns
- Manage and optimise Meta Ads campaigns, including creative and audience testing
- Conduct account audits and identify opportunities to improve campaign structure, targeting, tracking, and conversion performance
- Analyse performance beyond platform metrics, including lead quality, CPA, conversion rates, customer value, and ROAS
- Review landing pages and websites to identify UX, CRO, messaging, and conversion issues affecting campaign performance
- Apply strong working knowledge of SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI-driven search
- Work with SEO, content, design, and development teams to coordinate performance improvements
- Support new client onboarding, account audits, tracking reviews, and initial performance strategies
- Identify missing access, tracking, assets, or information required for effective campaign management
- Provide clear performance insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders
- Help ensure smooth handovers between sales, account management, and delivery teams
- Stay current with changes across Google Ads, Meta, SEO, and AI search
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in digital performance marketing and paid media in agency settings
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Ads
- Strong experience managing Meta Ads and paid social campaigns
- Experience across both lead generation/service businesses and eCommerce
- Advanced campaign optimisation and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of conversion tracking, attribution, analytics, and performance reporting
- Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and related platforms
- Strong understanding of UX and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
- Good understanding of landing page and website development principles
- Strong working knowledge of SEO and search intent
- Understanding of AEO, GEO, and AI-powered search
- Experience working with designers, developers, content teams, and account managers
- Strong commercial and analytical thinking with a focus on business outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and competing priorities
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of client performance
- Confident communicating technical and performance insights in clear, client-friendly language
- Previous experience supporting clients in AU/US/UK/CA or similar markets highly regarded
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
- Fully remote role with partial overlap with Australian business hours (AEST)
- Full-time engagement (40 hours per week)
- Work across a diverse portfolio of client accounts
- Collaborate closely with account management, SEO, creative, content, and development teams
- Use tools including Google Workspace, WordPress, Webflow, ActiveCampaign, and Shopify
- Communicate primarily through Slack, Google Chat, and email
- Take ownership of campaign performance, account reviews, and strategic recommendations
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities rather than simply responding to issues
- Comfortable working at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
- Contribute to client onboarding and smooth transition from sales into delivery
