Digital Architect

This is a remote position.

Requirements

• Lead the solution architecture of digital services and develop overall architectural plans.
  
• Ensure solutions support citizen-centered design and Agile delivery practices.
  
• Analyze existing system environments and identify opportunities for modernization and transformation.
  
• Provide recommendations, prototypes, and technical feasibility assessments.
  
• Define solution designs that support iterative implementation and delivery.
  
• Determine integration approaches, system boundaries, and interactions.
  
• Identify opportunities to leverage common components, platforms, and digital capabilities.
  
• Guide teams in the implementation and continuous delivery of digital services.
  
• Review code changes and contribute to development activities when required.
  
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship to product teams.
  
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX, Service Design, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  
• Communicate architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences through documentation, diagrams, and presentations.
  
• Contribute to architecture standards, principles, metrics, and continuous improvement of architecture practices.
  
  Required Qualifications
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an accepted equivalent.
  
• 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional Agile product teams.
  
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect, leading the design and delivery of software solutions.
  
• 2+ years of experience working with teams applying UX design, service design, or related design practices.
  
• 4+ years of experience defining and communicating solution architecture.
  
• 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication skills and translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  
  Preferred Qualifications
  
• 4+ years of experience applying secure development practices.
  
• 4+ years of experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services.
  
• 2+ years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing.
  
• 5+ years of experience incrementally modernizing legacy systems into modern digital services.
  
• 2+ years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  
• 2+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
  
• 4+ years of experience working within public-sector digital service frameworks.
