The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for performing a variety of specialized duties related to the nutrition counseling of patients / families for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) diet education for complex medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. The primary emphasis is to serve our clients and members with comprehensive, value based, nutritional care to achieve definitive outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. To provide optimal patient care, the Clinical Dietician should have an awareness of current practice guidelines, common barriers to care, patient motivational factors, availability of technology, regulatory aspects, and the value perspectives of self-insured employers.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities:
- Meet with patients individually (via telehealth) to provide extensive nutritional and lifestyle education to improve health and lower healthcare costs
- Work closely with patients to achieve sustainable weight loss
- Educating patients on appropriate community resources
- Evaluating nutritional and lifestyle outcomes and developing impactful reporting
- Formulate clinical recommendations and visit summaries to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients
- Proactively identify and address barriers to effective patient care delivered through the PBM
- Collaborate with departments to develop and capitalize on technology and health information
- Leverage presentation skills by delivering reporting as needed, in partnership with the account manager, to clients on the clinical aspects of their benefit plan
- Educate clients on clinical programs and solutions to increase rate of implementation and adoption of such programs
- Plans, organizes, and directs responsibilities delegated by Clinical Innovation Pharmacist

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree Required
- Registered Dietician Certification (CDR)
- State Certification or Licensure
- Strong work experience counseling individuals in an outpatient setting with complex disease states to prevent complications
- Strong familiarity with current treatment standards and options for common metabolic conditions including diabetes and obesity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience creating and updating Excel spreadsheets
Experience/Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with colleagues, clients, and patients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory oversight
- Ability to identify patient diet/lifestyle barriers and assist patient with strategies to overcome them
- Significant experience with motivational interviewing and patient education/engagement
- Ability to prioritize and have good organizational skills
- Capable of interfacing with True Rx clients and owners to provide solutions to problems
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products
- Need to be flexible and work as a team player
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Need to be adaptable and have different responsibility given periodically
- Travel as required
