To support our continued growth, we are looking for a dialux designer to join our international Lighting Design team. In this role, you will translate architectural drawings and project requirements into accurate, professional lighting simulations, supporting projects across Europe, the USA and the Middle East. You combine strong technical expertise in DIALux evo with a solid understanding of professional lighting design principles.
what you will do
Build complete architectural models in DIALux evo, translating AutoCAD drawings, architectural plans, sections, elevations and reflected ceiling plans into accurate simulation-ready environments.
Recreate complex architectural details and ceiling profiles, ensuring the model accurately reflects the real project and provides reliable simulation results.
Perform professional lighting calculations for a wide range of projects, including residential, retail, hospitality, office, commercial and exterior applications.
Integrate and manage photometric data such as IES, LDT and manufacturer-specific files within DIALux evo.
Select and position luminaires according to the project requirements and intended lighting concept, ensuring accurate and technically sound simulations.
Generate professional lighting calculation reports and technical documentation for international clients and projects.
Prepare lighting layouts and fixture schedules, reviewing all outputs for accuracy and consistency before final submission.
Work closely with the Lighting Design team, ensuring alignment on design intent, technical requirements and project standards.
Coordinate with architects, sales teams and project managers, translating project requirements into accurate lighting simulations and solutions.
Manage revisions and updates based on client feedback and evolving project requirements.
Coordinate with product teams to ensure the correct technical and photometric information is available for the lighting design process.
what we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in lighting design, lighting simulation or a comparable technical role.
Strong expertise in DIALux evo and AutoCAD and the ability to independently build complete, simulation-ready architectural models.
Solid understanding of professional lighting design principles and indoor and outdoor lighting applications.
Experience working with IES, LDT and other photometric data and translating this into accurate luminaire placement and lighting calculations.
Experience working on international lighting projects is a strong plus.
Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit or BIM workflows is considered an advantage.
Knowledge of lighting control systems, such as DALI and dimming systems, is a plus.
A basic understanding of electrical layouts and technical building systems is an advantage.
Technically accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong eye for quality and consistency.
Fast and structured, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an international environment.
Able to work independently while collaborating closely with different teams and stakeholders.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
