Requirements

Role and Responsibilities

In this consultant-style role, your mission is to serve as a bridge between high-level infrastructure and feature development teams. You will balance technical implementation with management and governance, acting as a primary facilitator to help application teams successfully onboard our monorepo environment. Available to work aligned with Paris time zone comfort with a 5-hour difference from Thailand.

  • Monorepo Design & Governance: Actively contribute to the design and governance of the monorepo, working closely with project teams to streamline their integration and ensure architectural alignment.

  • Engineering Empowerment: Help Java, infrastructure, and automation teams achieve better flow, enabling them to ship higher-quality products through standardized tools and processes.

  • Internal Client Focus: Adopt a DevOps philosophy where internal development and product teams are your primary clients; personal success is measured by your effectiveness in supporting their unique needs.

  • Strategic Success Metrics: Deliverables are evaluated not just on technical execution, but on the speed of application team onboarding and the reduction of dependency on sub-manufacturing teams.

  • Application Team Discovery: Collect application info, understand repository structures, and identify CI/CD usage to confirm Monorepo eligibility.

  • Onboarding Preparation: Coordinate technical prerequisites, manage repository permissions, and lead onboarding sessions with application teams.

  • CI/CD Support: Guide teams on standard Monorepo CI/CD usage, configure pipeline variables, and troubleshoot common failures using approved runbooks.

  • Release Validation: Support the first CI pipeline execution and deployment validation, tracking defects and ensuring onboarding criteria are met.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Base: Maintain onboarding FAQs, draft troubleshooting notes, and contribute to the improvement of runbooks and lessons learned.

  • Incident Handling: Triage Monorepo-related tickets, resolving known issues and preparing detailed escalation packages for the Software Factory team when complex blockers arise.

How do you know if you are a good fit?

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar roles

  • Technical Proficiency: You have hands-on experience with DevOps practices, specifically within GitLab environments and Monorepo structures.

  • CI/CD Expertise: You understand pipeline automation, variable configuration, and troubleshooting deployment models.

  • Java & Maven Proficiency: Hands-on experience in Java development and using Maven for building and deploying Java applications.

  • Process-Oriented: You enjoy working with runbooks and standard checklists to ensure high-quality, repeatable outcomes.

  • Communication Skills: You can clearly explain technical prerequisites and onboarding processes to diverse application teams.

  • Problem Solver: You are skilled at triaging incidents and knowing when to resolve versus when to escalate complex platform-level issues.
