Hey, we’re Bunsen. We create brands, websites, decks, and more for companies at the forefront of biopharma, aerospace, manufacturing, and other frontier industries. Our mission is to help scientists and engineers translate technical breakthroughs into powerful stories that connect with their most important audiences.
We’re looking for a Design Lead. Maybe that’s you.
As Design Lead, you’ll own brand and web projects from start to finish, with support from our Creative Director and broader team.
Discovery: At the start of each project, you and a Content Strategist will immerse yourselves in the client’s technology and business. You’ll curate moodboards and explore ways to visualize and clarify complex science.
Brand: You’ll develop brand systems that are not only beautiful, but authentically reflect each client’s DNA and differentiate them within their industry.
Design: Using copy created by the Content Strategist as a foundation, you’ll design on-brand websites ranging from single-screen splash pages to full corporate sites. Our team of motion, 3D, and production designers will work with you to develop key assets.
Development: Once the designs are finalized, our Webflow developers will bring them to life. You’ll lead design QA through launch.
Talented: You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates excellent design instincts and storytelling.
Reliable: You deliver consistently, communicate proactively, stay organized, and manage multiple projects effectively.
Curious: You love learning and improving. You take the time to understand each client and their technology so you can better serve their goals.
Scrappy: You thrive in a fast-paced agency environment and are comfortable working across a variety of projects and clients.
Time: This role will begin as a part-time contract of approximately 15–25 hours per week.
Growth: After successfully delivering two to three projects, the role may transition into a full-time position.
Location: We are remote-first but require approximately five hours of overlap with Eastern Time. Meetings typically take place between 12–5 p.m. ET.
Compensation: We offer fixed project fees for clearly defined engagements, such as brand, web, and deck projects, and hourly rates for less-defined or one-off design work.
