AI Summary

You will collaborate with customers to map source data into unified growth models and build/maintain ETL/ELT pipelines. Additionally, you will define business logic in the semantic layer and ensure data quality through production-ready monitoring.

About Hilbert

Hilbert is a scalable, data science-first growth engine that gives B2C teams predictive clarity into user behavior, revenue drivers, and the actions that drive sustainable growth. Fully agentic by design, Hilbert shrinks months-long decision cycles to minutes.

From Fortune 10 enterprises to beloved brands like FreshDirect, Blank Street, and Levain Bakery, operators run their growth on Hilbert. We're also co-building alongside leading AI companies.

The Mission: Turn Ground Truth Into Growth
Hilbert has two parts: a data foundation that gives our AI agents a high-fidelity view of each business, and an agentic web app where growth teams find and act on insights. The scores and audiences you build feed both: our agents reason with them, and our activation sends them into paid media and CRM.

The hard problem

The challenge isn't moving rows; it's reasoning consistency. Our AI must produce the same high-quality insights wherever the data lives, from data that is different at every customer. We want every pod to stay lean and efficient across very different customer environments, delivering quality work at startup speed. You focus on delivery; our sales engineers handle pre-sales. Your work centers on customers in your own region: supporting customers elsewhere is a rare exception, and your global work is mainly staying aligned with Hilbert colleagues in other regions.

What you'll do

  • Data discovery: work with the customer's engineers to understand their sources, and help build our Data Discovery Agent, which will analyze data, suggest mappings and scaffold first pipelines.
  • Canonical modeling: map source data into Hilbert's unified growth models, and help shape new models for industries we haven't served yet.
  • Hybrid integration: build and run ETL and ELT pipelines through Hilbert's data orchestration layer, which controls them whether they run on our stack (Dagster, Airbyte, ClickHouse) or natively in the customer's warehouse.
  • AI semantic layer: define the metadata, metrics and business logic in our semantic layer, built on Cube (cube.dev), that let our agents understand custom data without hallucinating.
  • Secure integration: connect Hilbert and the customer's cloud with least-privilege access and private connectivity.
  • Data quality: own monitoring and quality checks until the deployment is production-ready, and keep it healthy.
  • Productization: turn repeated work into product with our product engineering team.

Who you are

  • The translator: you earn the trust of a customer's data architect quickly and turn the logic of their custom tables into something our reasoning engine understands.
  • The data ontologist: you know AI needs more than a table; it needs context, and you have the discipline to define what the data means.
  • The pilot: you're excited to help build AI agents that take on the heavy lifting of discovery and pipeline scaffolding.
  • The systems thinker: you build reusable patterns, tests and automation instead of one-off pipelines, so a small team can deliver across very different environments without cutting corners.
  • The adapter: you're at home in whatever environment a customer brings, from their cloud and warehouse to their security rules, and you find a working solution quickly.
  • Extensive data engineering experience, with expert SQL and data modeling, strong Python, and dbt or Spark.
  • Hands-on with Databricks, Snowflake (including Snowpark) or BigQuery, and ClickHouse, plus an orchestrator such as Dagster or Airflow.
  • Working knowledge of cloud IAM and networking on AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team across time zones.
  • Fluent Spanish for roles based in Latin America.

Nice to have

  • ML engineering experience
  • DevOps, software architecture and security knowledge
  • Growth-focused data projects experience
  • Industry experience such as e-commerce, retail, fintech, telco and media
  • Able to travel to the US when necessary
