Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Program/Project Manager with strong Insurance domain expertise and a solid Data Engineering background to lead large-scale data transformation and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive delivery excellence across data platforms, ensure alignment with business objectives, and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data engineering and analytics projects within the insurance domain.
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables aligned with business goals.
- Manage program governance, including status reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Drive Agile/Scrum or hybrid delivery methodologies.
2. Insurance Domain Alignment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across Claims, Policy, Underwriting, Billing, and Finance functions.
- Translate insurance business requirements into data engineering solutions and roadmaps.
3. Data Engineering Leadership
- Oversee design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses/data lakes.
- Guide teams working on cloud platforms (Snowflake, DBT and AWS)
- Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security standards are maintained.
4. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary interface for client stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Manage expectations, escalations, and change requests effectively.
- Present executive-level updates and drive decision-making forums.
5. Team Leadership & Delivery Excellence
- Manage cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, architects, and QA teams.
- Drive resource planning, utilization, and performance management.
- Establish KPIs such as defect density, data accuracy, SLA adherence, and delivery timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience
- 10–15+ years of experience in IT, with:
- 5+ years in project/program management
- Strong exposure to insurance domain (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience in data engineering / data platforms
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, Data Lake)
- Cloud platforms AWS, GLUE etc
- Tools: Snowflake, SQL, Python, Amazon Kinesis
Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of:
- Insurance processes (Claims, Policy, Underwriting, Billing)
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Guidewire, or InsuranceNow ecosystems
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- High level of ownership and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in PMP, Agile/Scrum (CSM/SAFe) or cloud platforms
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven data transformation initiatives
