global office and staff footprint. We provide a unified software solution for investment,
general, and partnership accounting and analysis. Our product delivers operational
efficiency and insight to investment management professionals — family offices, fund
administrators, and alternative fund managers.
The Data Migration Specialist (DMS) is a member of the Implementation team,
responsible for transitioning the data required to build an operational database in
FundCount. The Implementation team handles the efficient and accurate onboarding of
new FundCount clients and their training. Our clients are single- and multi-family offices,
fund administrators, and hedge funds who hold a wide range of public and private
securities and general ledger transactions. The DMS plays a critical role in ensuring
historical data is transferred efficiently and reconciled with official records.


Our Product
All portfolio and partnership accounting activity in FundCount is aggregated within one
software system and flows through a single general ledger. Investment information is
consolidated, accurate, and instantly available, providing the insight and foundation
needed for in-depth analysis that drives decision-making. Our clients are single- and
multi-family offices, fund administrators, private equity firms, and hedge funds.


Responsibilities

  • Apply expert Excel and related database programming/management skills to export
    and organize data from legacy systems for import into FundCount.
  • Perform data validation tests to understand and improve data quality.
  • Document data flow through legacy system antecedents and other databases.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis where necessary in recommending
    process improvements.
  • Assist in the creation of new — and the maintenance of existing — data import and
    export interfaces between FundCount and 3rd-party systems and services.
  • Develop Excel-based macros and scripts to automate data collection, analysis, and
    reporting.
  • Build validation and reconciliation reports and dashboards to confirm migrated data
    ties out to official records.
  • Work on multiple data migration implementation projects simultaneously.
  • Interface with internal staff to implement data migration tasks.
  • Manage data migration testing and reporting.
  • Help identify design and interface process improvements.
  • Create systems integration documentation.
  • Submit the results of work into the Jira tracking system, properly describing and
    organizing each task according to the company’s established workflow.


Technical Skills
The core technical toolkit for this role spans spreadsheet automation, business
intelligence, data querying, and scripting. Strong candidates are hands-on across the following areas:

Spreadsheets & Data Automation

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel — complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.
  • Excel VBA / macros — automating data collection, transformation, and reporting.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Microsoft Power BI — building reports and dashboards for validation and analysis.
  • DAX — authoring measures and calculated columns.
  • Data modeling in Power BI — star-schema design, relationships, and table structure.

Databases & Querying

  • SQL — writing queries to extract, profile, and validate data.
  • Working knowledge of relational database structure and data-integrity concepts.
  • Comfort with structured data formats used in import/export interfaces (XML, CSV, JSON).

Programming & Scripting

  • Python scripting — data transformation, automation, and batch processing.
  • General scripting aptitude and a genuine interest in applied programming.
  • Java and JavaScript — nice to have, not required.


Critical Success Factors

  • 2+ years of relevant experience creating reports for business users of ERP systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge and an understanding of SQL queries.
  • Understanding of the principles of analyzing large data sets and identifying patterns to define rules.
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and work both independently and as a member of a project team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in the accounting, financial, economic, or banking sector; investment, trading, and hedge fund accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of jXLS (report and template generation).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git / GitLab) for managing scripts and templates
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar systems for task/issue management.
  • A broader interest in applied programming and process automation.
