Data Migration Lead

Data migration lead to manage and execute large scale data migration activities 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• 10+ year experience
• Expertise in data migration projects 
• Hands-on experience with developing data migration pipelines, data mapping, transformation, loading, monitoring and reconciliation.
• Ability to work independently & lead a team 
• Analyze source and target database structures, tables, fields, and relationships.
• Create and maintain source-to-target data mapping documents.
• Define data transformation and cleansing rules where required.
• Develop scripts  to extract, transform, and load data from source to target databases. 
• Build reusable pipelines for migrating large volume of data.
• Execute and monitor data migration activities across environments.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure migrated data is complete and accurate.
• Identify and resolve data migration issues and discrepancies.
• Work closely with data architect & business stakeholders
• Communicate effectively with client stakeholders
• Support migration testing & defect resolution 
• Plan & support production cutover activities.
• Prepare migration documentation, including mapping, transformation rules, scripts, validation results, and migration runbooks.

Required Skills

• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience with data migration projects.
• Experience in source-to-target mapping and data transformation.
• Hands-on experience writing migration/ETL scripts.
• Good understanding of relational databases, tables, relationships, keys, and data types.
• Experience with data validation and reconciliation.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and coordinate migration activities across technical teams.
