General Description

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting data governance engagements across multiple domains and verticals. This role bridges traditional information security with emerging data governance frameworks, i.e. data security, privacy and AI governance.

The successful candidate will support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data governance related policies, conduct risk assessments, assess regulatory compliance, and develop practices that promote information while enabling and maintaining responsible AI deployment and innovation.

About the Governance Practice

The GRC Governance Practice is responsible for delivering advisory, assessment and strategic services across data governance, AI governance, privacy, and cyber maturity domains. We help organizations establish robust governance frameworks that balance security requirements with business innovation.

Our team of governance consultants and analysts focuses on data security, privacy compliance, and AI governance advisory services. We partner with clients across multiple verticals to build sustainable governance programs.

  • Data security governance, privacy compliance, and program strategy development
  • AI governance assessments, model discovery, and program advisory
  • Policy framework development, governance documentation, and strategy and program development

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data governance assessments and gap analysis across client environments
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Collaborate with senior consultants and client stakeholders to gather requirements and validate governance controls
  • Assist in the preparation of client deliverables, including assessment report, strategy documents, and governance roadmaps
  • Document findings, risks, and recommendations from data governance engagements
  • Support the development of internal AI and LLM solutions to enhance team workflows and service delivery
  • Staying current with evolving data governance regulations, technologies, and best practices

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, data science, or related field plus 1-2 years of experience in information security, or equivalent, e.g., GPS Internship
  • Understanding of AI/ML technologies, and associated risks
  • Knowledge of AI/ML development technologies and platforms (NLP, Llama, Python, MCP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
  • Embraces emerging technologies, including AI tools, to work smarter, solve problems, and drive better business outcomes.

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Project management experience
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing regulatory and technological landscapes
  • Professional certifications such as AIGP, CIPP, CISSP, or CompTIA+ preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work
  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
