Data Engineer - MVA Inference & Audience Development

About the Role

This role develops the data infrastructure behind enrichment, segmentation, scoring, audience-development, and downstream activation workflows while enforcing privacy, provenance, retention, and compliance guardrails. Designs, builds, and governs privacy-conscious data pipelines and inference layers used for audience development. Transforms aggregated signals into compliant, reusable data products while maintaining data lineage, quality controls, vendor diligence, and strict technical guardrails against prohibited real-time or individual incident tracking.

What You'll Do

• Build, scale, and optimize ETL/ELT data models and pipelines that transform approved signals into audience segments.
• Stress-test data models and pipelines for data leakage, unauthorized identification, or compliance failure scenarios.
• Develop ZIP-, county-, or corridor-level geospatial scoring using aggregated historical data and approved freshness/retention rules.
• Translate regulatory and privacy requirements into technical guardrails in partnership with Growth, Marketing, and Legal/Compliance.
• Implement data lineage, source validation, quality monitoring, retention/freshness controls, and audit-ready documentation.
• Evaluate third-party data vendors for provenance, licensing, privacy certifications, and usage rights.
• Build reusable inference layers and repeatable deployment/monitoring workflows.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly relevant data-engineering experience, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert SQL and strong Python for data processing and orchestration.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure and enterprise data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience with geospatial joins, regional scoring, and spatial aggregation.
• Strong data-governance, lineage, quality, and privacy-by-design practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• dbt, Apache Airflow, Dagster, Apache Spark, ad-tech/mar-tech DSP activation, and privacy-framework experience (CCPA/CPRA, TCPA, GDPR).

Work Schedule and Location

Remote - United States. Full-time remote role with sufficient U.S. Eastern Time overlap for engineering, growth, and compliance collaboration. Reliable internet, a secure remote work environment, and appropriate protection of company and customer information are required.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected U.S. base salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000. The actual offer will depend on relevant experience, skills, work location, internal equity, and other lawful job-related factors. This range reflects base compensation only.
