Job Description:

The client is seeking a hands-on Talend Integration Analyst to support the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS). The resource will design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and support enterprise data integration solutions using Talend Integration Platform.

The role requires strong experience with Talend Studio, Talend Management Console (TMC), Talend Remote Engine, SQL, ETL/ELT, relational databases, APIs, production support, and data pipeline troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will work closely with data engineers, platform administrators, ministry stakeholders, and vendor support teams to ensure reliable and secure movement of data across legacy systems, modern platforms, cloud services, databases, APIs, and analytics environments.

Key Responsibilities

Talend / Data Integration

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Talend Data Integration / Data Fabric jobs.
  
• Build reusable Talend jobs, routes, components, and integration workflows.
  
• Develop ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, validating, and loading enterprise data.
  
• Create data mappings, transformation rules, reconciliation logic, and validation processes.
  
• Build parameterized and context-aware Talend jobs across Dev, Test, and Production.
  
• Develop scalable batch and near-real-time data integration solutions.
  

Talend Administration & Operations

• Administer and support Talend Management Console (TMC).
  
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Talend Remote Engine.
  
• Schedule, deploy, orchestrate, and monitor Talend jobs.
  
• Monitor job execution, throughput, failures, and performance.
  
• Troubleshoot integration failures, data-load issues, and production incidents.
  
• Provide ongoing production support within established SLAs.
  

SQL & Database Integration

• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, data transformations, and validation logic.
  
• Work with relational databases such as:
  
• Microsoft SQL Server
  
• Oracle
  
• PostgreSQL
  
• Perform data reconciliation, quality checks, and troubleshooting.
  
• Optimize queries and integration processes for performance.
  

APIs & Azure

• Design and integrate RESTful APIs.
  
• Develop and expose secure data services using Azure API Management.
  
• Integrate APIs with enterprise applications and downstream systems.
  
• Support cloud-based data movement and integration.
  

Data Governance & Security

• Implement data governance practices including:
  
• Metadata management
  
• Data classification
  
• Data lineage
  
• Data quality
  
• Apply privacy and security controls including:
  
• Role-based access control
  
• Encryption
  
• Data masking
  
• Ensure compliance with Government of Alberta privacy and regulatory requirements, including POPA.
  

AI & Automation

• Use AI-assisted tools for:

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science or a related field.
  
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions.
  
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration / Talend Studio / Talend Data Fabric.
  
• 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Talend Management Console (TMC).
  
• 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Talend Remote Engine.
  
• 2+ years of experience providing production support for enterprise integration solutions.
  
• 4+ years of experience working within a mature SDLC environment.
  
• 1+ year of experience using AI tools for code generation, data analysis, automation, testing, optimization, or documentation.
  
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
  
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.
  
• Experience with Talend job scheduling, deployment, orchestration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  
• Experience building reusable, parameterized, and context-aware integration jobs.
  
• Experience supporting batch and near-real-time data integration.
  
• Experience troubleshooting production data pipelines, integration failures, and data-load issues.
  

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• 6+ years of experience performing business requirements analysis related to data and integration.
  
• 6+ years of strong technical experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  
• 2+ years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines, data quality solutions, and cloud integrations.
  
• 3+ years of experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  
• Experience with Azure API Management.
  
• 3+ years of experience with Message Queueing Technologies.
  
• Experience with ServiceNow–Azure Data Management Platform integrations.
  
• Experience with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data classification.
  
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based data integration.
  
• Experience in government, environmental, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
  
• Experience implementing RBAC, encryption, data masking, and privacy controls.
