Newcomb & Boyd, a multi-discipline engineering firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with team members across the country, is looking for an Data Center Specialist. We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to travel at 100% and work full remote. We are looking for a candidate who specifically resides in VA area.
Responsibilities
Quality verification inspections and documentation review of the commissioning process for all electrical and/or mechanical equipment during Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 steps of commissioning as identified in the project commissioning plan, specifications, submittals and applicable codes and standards of the project. Deliverables include:
L1 FAT/FWT Reports
L2 Torque Logs
L2 Megger Reports
L2 Equipment Receiving and BOL Documentation
L2 Field Installation Reports
L3 PMS and BMS Point to Point Verifications
L3 Energization and/or Functional Test Reports
Participate and utilize the software management system and the Project Share Site to post commissioning checklists, readiness evaluation reports, and other records as required by specification.
Perform commissioning inspections, utilizing checklists or forms in the quality control software system. Inspections shall be performed at major milestones as requested by the PM. Inspection criteria includes the adherence to the specifications and submittals of the project, as well as the applicable codes and standards.
Assist in tracking and resolving open issues as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the applicable project documents relating to the electrical systems required to be commissioned is a plus.
Ability to commit to 100% travel or be local to the project site.
Prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.
Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.
A desire to develop their knowledge and grow.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Certificate/Diploma from an accredited trade school or county and/or state electrical license preferred.
Prior experience working in an electrical construction or commissioning-based role is a required.
