About the Role

We are looking for a Danish Translator to translate written content from English into Danish while maintaining accuracy, clarity, tone, and natural language flow.

This is a flexible, work-from-home freelance opportunity suited for a native Danish speaker or highly proficient Danish translator who can manage translation projects independently alongside other commitments.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent written Danish, and the ability to accurately communicate the original meaning while making the translated content feel natural to Danish-speaking audiences.

What You’ll Own

English-to-Danish Translation

• Translate written content from English into natural, accurate Danish
• Maintain the original meaning, tone, and context throughout the translation
• Ensure translations are grammatically correct and easy to understand
• Adapt wording where necessary to make content culturally and linguistically appropriate
• Review translated content for accuracy, consistency, and readability

Quality Control

• Proofread and edit translated content before submission
• Identify and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting issues
• Ensure terminology is used consistently throughout each project
• Follow provided translation guidelines and instructions
• Deliver polished, publication-ready translations

Project Communication

• Communicate clearly regarding project requirements, timelines, and questions
• Complete assigned translation tasks within agreed deadlines
• Provide updates when clarification is needed
• Incorporate feedback and revisions when required

Requirements

• Native-level Danish proficiency
• Strong written and spoken English
• Proven ability to translate accurately from English to Danish
• Excellent Danish grammar, spelling, and vocabulary
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to preserve the meaning and tone of the original content
• Reliable and able to meet agreed deadlines
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Access to a reliable internet connection
• Previous translation experience is preferred

Nice to Have

• Previous freelance translation experience
• Experience translating marketing, business, website, or digital content
• Experience working with translation tools or platforms
• Familiarity with localization and adapting content for Danish audiences
• Portfolio or examples of previous English-to-Danish translation work
