About your team 

As a key member of the global Regulatory Affairs team, reporting to the Regulatory Team Lead South Zone, you will operate at the intersection of global regulatory strategy and local market execution. 

 

You will collaborate closely with international colleagues across Regulatory, Development, Marketing and the Commercial functions, while acting as the primary regulatory interface for the French organisation. In this role, you are a trusted advisor to the French Branch Management Team, ensuring regulatory priorities are fully embedded into business strategy and decision-making. 

 

Within this role, you will own the country-level regulatory strategy with significant business impact, positioning yourself as a key contributor to the success of the French business. 

The team is widely recognised in the market as a high-performing and expert regulatory partner, known for its quality, engagement and forward-thinking approach. You will also represent the organisation externally, engaging with industry bodies such as Phyteis and building strong relationships with authorities, technical institutes and key stakeholders within the French regulatory landscape. 

 

About your job 

In this senior role, you will lead complex regulatory activities with a high degree of autonomy, shaping and executing the regulatory strategy for France in alignment with EU direction and business priorities.  You will translate regulatory requirements and insights into clear strategic guidance, ensuring strong alignment between regulatory strategy and country-level business objectives. 

 

A key part of your role will be to manage interactions with regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders, building strong relationships and defining effective engagement strategies to support successful regulatory outcomes 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Advising  and executing the regulatory strategy for France ensuring alignment with EU regulatory direction and business priorities 

  • Providing clear guidance on French-specific scientific and regulatory requirements, ensuring dossiers are adapted appropriately for successful national submissions 

  • Coordinating dossier submissions in France, ensuring timely and compliant delivery for all product lifecycle stages, based on documentation provided by internal teams or external partners. 

  • Managing and influencing interactions with French regulatory authorities, including advising on engagement strategies, navigating expectations, and supporting procedures such as appeals and dispute resolution to achieve optimal regulatory outcomes 

  • Acting as the primary regulatory advisor to the French Branch Management Team, translating regulatory developments into clear business implications and strategic recommendations 

  • Building and maintaining deep expertise in French and EU regulatory frameworks, ensuring proactive and future-proof compliance strategies 

  • Monitoring political, regulatory and societal developments, and using these insights to shape forward-looking product and regulatory strategies 

  • Representing the organisation externally through bodies such as Phyteis national associations, actively contributing to industry dialogue and influencing regulatory developments 

  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in regulatory processes, tools and ways of working 

  • You will operate with a high level of independence, with leadership guidance focused on outcomes, enabling you to shape both regulatory strategy and business impact. 

 

 

About you 

You are an experienced regulatory professional with a solid understanding of the French and EU regulatory environment and its impact on the business. You combine regulatory knowledge with strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable guidance. 

 

You are comfortable operating with autonomy and ownership and are motivated by roles where you can shape direction and drive outcomes at country level.  You build credibility through strong relationships, particularly with regulatory authorities, as well as through effective communication, precision, and attention to detail. You are recognised for your ability to provide accurate and well-judged advice on submission strategies and navigate regulatory challenges 

 

This is what you bring: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, biology, chemistry or a related scientific discipline 

  • Significant experience in Regulatory Affairs, Product Registration within the plant protection or agrobusiness sector 

  • Experience in mentoring junior regulatory staff is a plus 

  • Strong and current knowledge of French and EU regulatory frameworks with the ability to apply them in a practical, business-oriented way 

  • Experience in coordinating regulatory activities and managing submissions at country level, based on dossiers prepared by internal or external teams 

  • Understanding of French-specific scientific and regulatory requirements, with the ability to provide clear guidance to ensure successful national submissions 

  • Experience in owning or significantly contributing to country-level regulatory strategy and business-critical decision-making 

  • The ability to interpret regulations and trends, translating these into clear and actionable business recommendations 

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience interacting with regulatory authorities and external partners  

  • Ability to build constructive relationships with authorities and effectively navigate regulatory discussions to support positive outcomes 

  • A structured, precise and detail-oriented approach, ensuring accuracy and quality in submissions and regulatory advice 

  • Excellent communication skills in French and professional English 

  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation and impact
