They will participate in product discovery, roadmap discussions, and ensure the successful delivery of digital products across various industries.

Cheesecake Labs is an AI, data, and product engineering partner for established and scaling organizations navigating legacy systems, fragmented data, AI pressure, or limited engineering capacity.

We deliver agentic workflows in 8-12 weeks and modernize applications in 5-10 months rather than 2 years. We also build trusted data foundations and digital products designed to scale. The story behind this role

At Cheesecake Labs, product work usually starts before things are fully defined.

We’re often brought in when companies are still shaping ideas, validating opportunities, aligning stakeholders, or trying to understand what should actually be built — and why.

That’s why we maintain a network of strong contractor Product Managers we can engage quickly as new projects and client opportunities emerge.

This is not a traditional long-term internal role.

It’s a contractor opportunity designed for people who enjoy navigating ambiguity, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping turn business problems into valuable digital products across different industries and client contexts.

We’re looking for a Product Manager (Contractor) who combines product thinking, communication, organization, and client management in fast-moving international environments.

Engagement details

  • Contractor / project-based engagement
  • Paid in USD
  • Remote-first
  • Flexible allocation depending on project availability and fit
  • Opportunities may vary in duration, scope, and weekly commitment depending on client needs

Some opportunities may start immediately.
Others may become active as new projects enter our pipeline.

What this role actually looks like

This is not a “just manage backlog” type of role.

On a typical project, you might:

  • Work with clients and stakeholders to understand business goals, user problems, and product opportunities
  • Help shape product direction even when requirements, priorities, or product vision are still evolving
  • Create and organize product backlogs, user stories, business rules, and feature definitions
  • Work closely with delivery managers, designers, and engineers to define valuable, feasible, and usable solutions
  • Facilitate alignment across clients, technical teams, and business stakeholders
  • Participate in product discovery, roadmap discussions, prioritization, and go-to-market conversations
  • Join product ceremonies and help ensure the product is evolving in the right direction

Some projects will be highly strategic and discovery-oriented.
Others will be much more execution and delivery-focused.

Most are a mix of both.

What tends to work well here

We’ve seen that people who thrive in this type of engagement usually:

  • Have strong experience managing digital products across web and mobile environments
  • Feel comfortable navigating ambiguity, evolving priorities, and fast-changing product contexts
  • Know how to balance business goals, user needs, technical constraints, and delivery realities
  • Feel totally confident working in English with international clients and teams (calls, discussions, async) — at least advanced level
  • Operate well across multidisciplinary environments involving product, engineering, design, and delivery teams
  • Adapt well to consulting-style environments where different projects and industries require fast context-switching
  • Already use AI as part of their day-to-day workflow — whether for organization, discovery, documentation, research, prioritization, or workflow acceleration

Previous experience in consulting/service environments, enterprise products, or US-based client contexts is a strong plus.

This probably won’t be your thing if

Just to be transparent:

  • You prefer highly structured environments with very stable scopes and long planning cycles
  • You’re uncomfortable navigating ambiguity or balancing multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
  • You prefer operating only at a strategic level without involvement in execution and day-to-day product decisions
  • You’d rather avoid client-facing conversations or cross-functional collaboration
  • You rely heavily on mature product structures, large internal product teams, or extensive metrics environments to operate effectively

There’s nothing wrong with any of that — it’s just not how these engagements usually operate.

One last thing

To participate in this selection process, you must:

  • Have a valid business registration in your country (such as CNPJ, VAT, EIN, or equivalent)
  • Have a bank account eligible to receive payments in USD
  • Be able to issue invoices accordingly

These requirements are necessary for contractor engagement and payment processing.

Not sure if you check every box?

That’s okay.

We know that many great people — especially from underrepresented groups — hesitate to apply unless they meet 100% of the requirements.

If this opportunity sounds interesting, we’d still love to hear from you.

IMPORTANT TIP -> The communication during the selection process is done by email. We suggest that you keep an eye on your email inboxes and set the permission to receive messages from @cheesecakelabs.hire.trakstar.com so our messages will not be directed to the spam box ;)

The collected personal data will be used only to manage and control candidate resumes to assess the necessary requirements such as contact information, and conduct this selection process.

The collected data will not be shared with others (“third parties”) without your authorization, and their use will be restricted to Cheesecake Labs' internal staff, and also to the service providers that process your data for the selection process. At any time, you can contact us and we will remove your data from our data collection system. To do that, just simply send an email to careers@cheesecakelabs.com.
