Userpilot is a leading product analytics and growth platform. We're hiring a Content Editor / AI Content Engineer (full-time, remote) to grow our visibility in both traditional search and AI-generated answers, and to build the AI-assisted workflows that keep our content library accurate and up to date.

The role combines editorial work (briefs, proofreading, coaching writers) with building Claude-based content workflows and running our AI visibility strategy. You'll also hire and manage the freelance writers, agencies, and AI agents who help produce content.

You'll report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with the Content Project Manager.



What You'll Be Accountable For

AI visibility (AEO, GEO, AIO)

  • Build and run our Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy, so ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini cite Userpilot in answers about product analytics, onboarding, and growth.
  • Build the AI Optimization (AIO) signals underneath that: reviews, third-party mentions, Reddit presence, and consistent brand proof across the web.
  • Track citation share and brand visibility across AI platforms using tools like Profound or Otterly.ai. Turn findings into specific content changes.

AI content workflows

  • Build and maintain Claude workflows for drafting, editing, tagging, and updating content across a large content library.
  • Set the review checkpoints and quality standards that keep AI-assisted drafts accurate and on-brand before they reach an editor or a reader.
  • Run our content update playbooks to keep older articles ranking and getting cited over time.

Hiring and managing freelancers, agencies, and AI agents

  • Hire and manage freelance writers and content agencies for new articles and content updates.
  • Hire and manage video editors and agencies to produce YouTube content that supports the blog.
  • Brief and manage AI agents for research, drafting, and repetitive content tasks. Review their output to the same standard as a freelancer's.
  • Run and grow Userpilot's presence in relevant Reddit communities.

Editorial craft

  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Content Project Manager on content strategy, keyword research, topics, and formats.
  • Write briefs and outlines for writers.
  • Proofread and QA all content before it publishes to the Userpilot blog.
  • Give writers specific feedback and coach them over time.
  • Own each piece from brief to publication.



Requirements

  • Hands-on experience using Claude or similar AI tools to build content workflows, not casual use.
  • Working knowledge of AEO, GEO, and AIO.
  • Exceptional proofreading, editing, and writing skills. Experience in B2B SaaS content.
  • Strong SEO fundamentals. Comfort with Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience hiring and managing freelancers, agencies, or AI agents.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills. Able to prioritize and work independently.
  • Patience and the ability to coach other people.
  • Able to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly across teams.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced media company or building AI content operations is a plus.
  • Experience with WordPress, StoryChief, and AI visibility tools like Profound or Otterly.ai is a plus.
  • Knowledge of technical SEO, experience running audits in Screaming Frog, and strong working knowledge of Ahrefs and SurferSEO is a plus.
