Develop the series’ musical direction and create original scores, themes, character motifs, and music for key scenes and transitions. Collaborate with the Director, Editor, and Sound Designer to produce and deliver final tracks, alternate versions, stems, and edits.

Aru Labs is looking for a Composer / Music Producer for an upcoming independent web-series project being produced for a client.
This is a project-based opportunity, not a permanent position at Aru Labs.
The series is a contemporary character-driven story exploring startups, ambition, relationships, friendship, money and life.
We're looking for a musician who can create an original musical identity for the series.
Develop the musical direction for the series
Create original score and themes
Develop character and emotional motifs where appropriate
Compose music for key scenes and transitions
Work closely with the Director and Editor
Create music that supports the emotional arc without overpowering the story
Produce, arrange and deliver final music tracks
Coordinate with the Sound Designer during final post-production
Provide alternate versions, stems and edits when required
Help establish a consistent musical identity across episodes
The series moves through a world of:
Startups. Ambition. Relationships. Friendship. Money. Travel. Success. Uncertainty.
The music should feel contemporary, emotional and distinctive.
We're open to different approaches, including:
Electronic
Ambient
Indie
Minimal
Experimental
Contemporary cinematic
Hybrid / genre-blending
We're not looking for generic corporate or motivational startup music.
Strong portfolio of original music
Experience composing for visual storytelling is a plus
Strong understanding of mood, pacing and emotional storytelling
Ability to create both subtle background score and memorable themes
Strong production and arrangement skills
Good understanding of music licensing and original composition
Ability to work collaboratively with a Director and Editor
Experience with films, web series, short films, documentaries, commercials, games or music projects is welcome.

Travel: Not required
Engagement: Project-based / contract
Post-production: Following principal photography
Potential production locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bali and other global creative and startup hubs
International and India-based musicians are welcome.
