Keen Games is an independent developer and publisher based in Frankfurt, Germany, with a long history of creating games for PC, consoles, and handhelds. We are an 80+ strong team with ambitious goals. In 2024, we released Enshrouded into Early Access, and we are now preparing for our 1.0 launch and a long life for the game beyond it.
We are bringing community management for the APAC region in-house, and we are looking for a Community Manager to own the day-to-day relationship with our players across Asian time zones. China is our most important market in the region, followed by Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. You will manage the Chinese-speaking communities directly, and for Japan and South Korea you will build and lead a network of local volunteers. You will report to our Community Lead and be fully integrated into our publishing team in Frankfurt, remote, but not on your own.
This role is open on either an employment or a freelance/contractor basis, depending on your preference and location. We will discuss the right setup with you during the process.
The role:
Be the voice of Enshrouded in the APAC region: engage our players, communicate key features, content, the roadmap and moderate where necessary
Recruit, guide, and support our volunteer moderators across the region, including building up volunteer teams in Japan and South Korea, keeping the community welcoming and leading by example
Post on and monitor our regional social channels and forums, including platforms such as Weibo, Bilibili, Discord, and the Steam forums, using social media management software
Identify bugs, issues, and player feedback in the region's communities and feed them into the community team's shared process with QA, customer service, and design
Gather and structure player feedback from the APAC communities as part of the community team's regular reporting to design, to make Enshrouded the best it can be
Contribute to our editorial calendar and help with ideation and content creation for the region
Provide regular reporting on community sentiment, key topics, issues, and campaign results
Requirements:
Based in Hong Kong, Singapore, or Taiwan
3+ years of professional experience managing gaming APAC communities, including moderation
Fluent Chinese (written fluency in both Simplified and Traditional characters) and fluent English, verbal and written
Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in public-facing situations
A strong sense of initiative and ownership, you work autonomously during hours when most of the team is asleep
You thrive in a direct, open feedback culture: you speak up, push back when you disagree, and tell us what the community really thinks, not what you assume we want to hear
Familiarity with the regional platform landscape (Chinese social and gaming platforms, Discord, Steam)
Japanese or Korean is a strong plus
What we offer:
Competitive fixed compensation, as a salary if employed, or as a fixed monthly fee on a contractual basis
If employed: 25 paid vacation days and benefits in line with the requirements of your location
A fully remote position with real ownership of your region
Direct integration into the Keen Games publishing team, with a few overlapping hours with Frankfurt (CET) for handovers and team meetings
Start date: As soon as possible
You'll always be supported by your colleagues, but you carry a lot of responsibility for your own work, working independently is something you are used to and enjoy.
We are ambitious and want to define the survival/co-op genre with Enshrouded. If this resonates with you, we'd love to learn more about you.
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
