As our Communications & Corporate Affairs Lead, you will own the company's communications ecosystem—ensuring Quarterhill speaks with clarity, consistency, and credibility across employees, customers, investors, media, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
This is a highly visible role that partners closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Investor Relations, and business leaders to strengthen Quarterhill's reputation, amplify our market presence, and drive engagement with key audiences.
Responsibilities
Lead External Communications & Media Relations
- Build and manage Quarterhill's media relations strategy and journalist network.
- Develop press releases, company announcements, customer success stories, and executive communications.
- Drive proactive earned-media opportunities, thought leadership placements, and industry coverage.
- Position Quarterhill as a trusted voice in transportation technology, intelligent mobility, and infrastructure.
Elevate Executive Visibility
- Serve as a strategic communications partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
- Develop and manage executive speaking opportunities, media interviews, industry awards, and conference participation.
- Create compelling bylined articles, keynote content, talking points, and executive thought leadership programs.
Align Corporate and Investor Messaging
- Partner with Finance and Investor Relations teams to ensure consistent corporate and investor communications.
- Support earnings-related communications, investor-facing messaging, and reputation management initiatives.
Drive Internal Communications
- Lead company-wide communications that inform, engage, and align employees.
- Develop executive updates, employee newsletters, town halls, all-hands materials, and change management communications.
- Ensure employees understand company priorities, strategy, and organizational developments.
Manage Quarterhill's Newsroom & Content Engine
- Own the corporate newsroom, editorial calendar, and content strategy.
- Maintain a steady cadence of news, executive insights, customer stories, and industry thought leadership.
- Ensure communications are aligned with Quarterhill's strategic growth priorities and brand positioning.
Oversee Agency & Stakeholder Relationships
- Manage external PR agencies and communications partners.
- Coordinate messaging across key stakeholders, including partners, customers, industry associations, and government entities when required.
Ensure Crisis Communications Readiness
- Develop and maintain crisis communications plans, contact lists, executive response frameworks, and preparedness protocols.
- Support leadership through sensitive communications and reputation management situations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, public affairs, or a related field.
- Proven success leading media relations programs and developing strong journalist relationships.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience creating executive-level communications.
- Demonstrated ability to ghostwrite for C-suite leaders with an authentic and credible voice.
- Experience managing multiple communications channels and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transportation, infrastructure, mobility, technology, public sector, or other regulated industries.
- Background supporting publicly traded companies, investor relations, or executive communications.
- Existing relationships with transportation, infrastructure, mobility, or business media outlets.
- Experience navigating government, regulatory, or public affairs communications.
