Manage the global content calendar and publish polished, verified stories across digital channels in both Arabic and English. Track channel performance through analytics and coordinate communication efforts with partners and media outlets.

Role Summary

The Remote Communications Officer keeps SAPA's global communications engine running every day. Working from anywhere and reporting to the Director, SAPA Global Communications, you take the verified stories and assets coming from the field and turn them into polished, published, well-timed content across SAPA's channels. You own the publishing calendar, sharpen the writing, track what's working, and keep partners and media coordinated.

This role suits a dependable, detail-oriented communicator who can write beautifully in Arabic and English, manage a busy content pipeline without dropping a beat, and hold the line on factual accuracy — every published figure must trace to a verified source.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global publishing & scheduling

  • Own the day-to-day content calendar across SAPA's social and digital channels (@SAPA_Global), ensuring a consistent, well-timed publishing rhythm.
  • Schedule, format, and publish posts, reels, and updates, adapting content for each platform and audience.
  • Coordinate timing across time zones and observances so campaigns and announcements land when they matter most.

2. Editorial polish & writing

  • Write and edit captions, articles, newsletters, donor updates, and campaign copy in fluent Arabic and English.
  • Edit and elevate raw field material into clear, dignified, on-brand storytelling consistent with SAPA's voice.
  • Maintain editorial quality, accuracy, and consistency across everything SAPA publishes — verified data only.

3. Analytics & reporting

  • Track performance across channels, compile regular analytics reports, and surface insights to the Director.
  • Monitor reach, engagement, and growth, and recommend adjustments to improve results over time.
  • Maintain dashboards and records that show how communications support SAPA's advocacy and fundraising goals.

4. Partner & media coordination

  • Coordinate co-publishing and content sharing with SAPA's partners and affiliates across the network.
  • Support media/PR outreach — maintaining media lists, preparing materials, and helping route journalist requests.
  • Liaise with the field team to receive, organize, and confirm assets, and coordinate design and video production needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, digital media, content management, or editorial work.
  • Fluent Arabic and English, with excellent writing and editing skills in both languages.
  • Proven command of social media publishing, scheduling tools, and content calendars.
  • Comfort with analytics — reading platform data and translating it into clear, actionable reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams remotely and independently.
  • Disciplined about accuracy — every published claim and figure traces to a verified source.

Assets (Preferred)

  • Experience with humanitarian, health-sector, or diaspora-facing organizations.
  • Working knowledge of design and video tools (Canva, Adobe, or similar) to coordinate or lightly produce assets.
  • Familiarity with project tools such as Asana and with newsletter/email platforms.
  • Media relations or PR experience.

Working Conditions

  • Fully remote; candidates may be based anywhere, with reliable internet and meaningful overlap with North American working hours.
  • Occasional evening or weekend coverage around major campaigns, observances, or breaking developments.
  • Close daily collaboration with the Director and the field-based Communications Officer.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

  • A reliable, on-time publishing rhythm established across SAPA's primary channels.
  • A clean, shared content calendar that the whole comms team works from.
  • A first analytics report delivered, with clear recommendations the team can act on.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following to SAPA Global Communications:

  1. A current CV or résumé.
  2. A short cover note (English and Arabic) explaining your interest and fit.
  3. A portfolio or 2–3 work samples (posts, articles, reels, photo sets, or campaigns you produced).
