The role involves managing the commercial insurance quoting process from submission to bind, acting as the bridge between producers and carrier partners. Key tasks include identifying best-fit markets, negotiating terms, and preparing professional proposals for various commercial lines.
Company: TrustPoint Insurance
Location: Hybrid/Remote (U.S.)
Type: Full-time
Lines of Focus: Commercial P&C, Transportation/Trucking, Construction/Contractors, Oil & Gas
About the Role
TrustPoint is an independent agency looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Marketer/Quoter who knows how to package a clean submission, match risks to the right markets, and get business placed. You'll be the bridge between our producers and our carrier partners—owning the marketing and quoting process from submission to bind.
This is a fully remote position. We care more about what you can do than where you sit or exactly how many years you've logged, so newer marketers with the right instincts and seasoned pros with deep carrier relationships are both encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
- Review new and renewal commercial accounts, identify the best-fit markets, and prepare complete, professional submissions
- Quote and negotiate with carriers and wholesale/MGA partners to secure competitive terms
- Maintain a working knowledge of carrier appetites across our core lines—commercial P&C, transportation/trucking, and construction/contractors—and steer accounts to the right home the first time
- Order and review loss runs, MVRs, and supporting documentation; follow up to keep submissions moving
- Compare quotes, build proposals, and present options clearly to producers and account managers
- Track marketing activity and manage timelines so nothing falls through the cracks at renewal
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters and wholesale brokers
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on commercial lines marketing/quoting experience on the independent agency, wholesale, or carrier underwriting side
- Working familiarity with carrier appetites and how to place across multiple markets—standard, program, and E&S
- Strength in one or more of our core lines: commercial P&C, transportation/trucking, construction/contractors, oil & gas production
- Comfort with agency management systems and carrier/rater portals
- Sharp attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to juggle multiple submissions on deadline
- Clear written and verbal communication—you'll be working with producers and underwriters daily
- A reliable home-office setup and the self-discipline to thrive remotely
Nice to Have
- CIC, CISR, or similar designations
- Existing underwriter and wholesale relationships
- Experience with E&S/surplus lines placement
Why TrustPoint
- A book of business with real variety across commercial lines
- A team that values marketers as a core part of how we win and keep accounts
