Key Areas of Responsibility
- Commercial Compliance: Drive coordination of quarterly Weaver QAP audits and ensure data integrity for timely and accurate reporting of audit materials. Additionally, this role will drive the initial RFS certification of new RNG projects, coordinating data requests and submissions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and oversee communications between a variety of RNG stakeholders (including partners, utilities, landfill owners, and other commercial counterparties)
- Energy Markets: Create and increase channels to market for environmental attributes and renewable commodities. Actively market RINs to viable counterparties through direct outreach to obligated parties, brokers, and over the counter exchanges.
- Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop commercial strategies for renewable energy projects, including pricing, contract negotiation, and risk management.
- Commercial Library: Organize and maintain the library of commercial agreements and notices.
- Regulatory Affairs: Follow established and evolving regulatory issues as they pertain to current and future renewable energy projects, with a specific focus on the biogas and renewable natural gas industry.
- Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
- Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors
- In addition to the duties set out above, the Commercial Analyst may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years’ experience with financial analysis in the energy industry, with exposure to RNG projects a plus
- Deal experience is a plus; comfortable with contract terms and negotiations
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet goals and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and cohesively in a team environment
