We're looking for a Cloud Engineer (backend focus) to join our Cloud Team. This is a senior role focused on building and operating the services behind every Anyline scan, and on shaping how we build software in the agent era.
The Cloud Team owns Anyline's server-side and browser product surface end to end: the Cloud API, Insights API and its Grafana dashboards, the Tire Tread measurement cloud, the JavaScript Web SDK, the Tire-Sidewall services, and our data pipelines — plus all the Google Cloud infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD that keep them running. Once a customer's scan leaves the device, it's our code that processes it.
Most of the typing happens through agents. We expect you to ship work using AI tooling, to review and harden agent output the way you would review a colleague's PR, and to spend a meaningful share of your time building the guardrails, scripts, and shared infrastructure that make the rest of the team faster.
The stack is broad and cloud-native: TypeScript and NestJS on our APIs, Python on the measurement, React on the dashboards and demos, all running on Google Cloud — primarily Cloud Run and Cloud Functions, with GPU-backed compute for our ML services. Around that sits the Elastic Stack and BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL on Cloud SQL, Auth0, Terraform, and GitLab CI holding it all together. We're cloud and backend specialists, not framework partisans — we dive into whichever service needs us.
Engineering & delivery
Design, ship, and operate services across the cloud portfolio — APIs, data pipelines, an measurement backend — and use AI agents as a daily tool, with your engineering judgment
Own services in production end to end: deployments, observability, scaling, and incident response
Contribute to architecture and design discussions as a senior peer
Tooling & infrastructure
Build and improve the GCP infrastructure, Terraform, and GitLab CI that deploys our services
Own the cost, scaling, and reliability of our serverless and GPU workloads
Author or improve agent-driven workflows that the rest of the team adoptsCustomer support & feedback
Handle customer escalations that reach our queue — integration issues, API behavior, data questions
Translate recurring customer issues into product and infrastructure improvements
Several years of production software engineering experience, with shipped backend or cloud work
Solid command of at least one of our core languages (TypeScript/Node.js or Python) and willingness to work across both
Hands-on experience running and operating services on a major cloud (GCP preferred) with Docker and containers
Comfort with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
Fluency in English, written and spoken
Comfort with remote work and self-direction
You'll fit this role if you
Are comfortable across a polyglot, cloud-native stack and don't need a single tech to feel at home
Treat agent output with the same skepticism you'd apply to a junior's PR
Think about a service's second life — its logs, dashboards, cost, and failure modes — not just shipping the feature
Don't mind a customer call when the bug is bad enough
You'll thrive if you also
Have real depth in one of our core areas, cloud infrastructure or the Elastic Stack
Have run data pipelines, ML inference, or GPU workloads in production
Already use AI agents in daily work and have opinions about where they fail
Have operated services that other teams or customers depend on, not just shipped features
Have Kubernetes / Helm experience — a plus for parts of our current stack
You'll struggle if
You expect to type most of your code yourself
You want a pure feature-dev role with no infra, ops, or customer surface
You need a tightly-defined, single-stack environmentYou'd rather not be on the hook when something you own breaks
