Firemind has built an AI operating engine that runs enterprise IT estates autonomously, live in production for many customers today, resolving around 90% of incidents without human touch — removing the need for a traditional MSP. We are an AWS Premier Tier partner, an Anthropic Authorised Reseller, and an NVIDIA embedded partner. Our AI Transformation portfolio helps enterprises adopt AI safely inside their own technology estate. Our work is trusted by organisations including Vodafone, KONE, Center Parcs, and Premier League.
We are growing the team behind our Autonomous Cloud Operations service — a managed service that resolves incidents, fulfils service requests, and maintains security posture with minimal human intervention. We are looking for a Cloud Engineer who wants to operate at the frontier of what managed services can be. This is not a traditional cloud ops role. You will not be closing tickets or following runbooks. You will be building, governing, and continuously improving the autonomous systems that do that work instead.
This role is offered in Poland on a B2B contract basis, with remote working.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and build automated remediation workflows, self-healing infrastructure patterns, and closed-loop resolution pipelines that reduce human intervention across customer cloud estates.
- Own the quality of autonomous decisions — reviewing how the system resolved incidents and service requests, identifying failure patterns, and improving resolution logic and policy guardrails over time.
- Translate customer compliance and governance requirements into policy-as-code, ensuring automated actions stay within safe, auditable boundaries at all times.
- Act as the expert escalation point for novel or complex episodes that fall outside autonomous resolution, making fast, high-quality calls and feeding learnings back into the system.
- Work directly with customers on strategic cloud operations matters, building trust in autonomous resolution and advising on how to get the most from the service.
- Work closely with the Firemind product team to continuously improve the Autonomous Operations platform — translating real-world operational experience and customer edge cases into concrete product feedback, shaping how the system learns, and contributing directly to the roadmap of capabilities that drive resolution quality across all customer estates.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Solid hands-on experience across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security services, in a commercial managed service or production environment.
- A demonstrable automation-first mindset — a track record of building automation that eliminated manual operational work, not just supplemented it.
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, particularly Terraform, and comfort treating operational runbooks as temporary until they are codified.
- Sound understanding of security posture management and compliance frameworks such as ITIL, with experience translating requirements into enforceable policy.
- Mature incident judgment — the ability to assess a complex or novel situation quickly, decide whether to intervene or let automation proceed, and communicate the rationale clearly.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership in a fast-moving environment where the problems are not always well-defined.
- Readiness and availability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding to complex or novel episodes that require human judgment outside of standard business hours — with the understanding that autonomous resolution handles the majority of incidents, making genuine out-of-hours intervention the exception rather than the rule.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with AI or ML-driven automation systems, including evaluating the quality of automated decisions and improving them over time.
- Familiarity with agentic or event-driven architectures where systems take autonomous action based on observed state.
- Cloud certifications across one or more of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud at Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent level — or demonstrated experience across multiple cloud platforms.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role within a managed service or platform company, rather than purely internal or project-based delivery.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- The opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects with major clients.
- A supportive, collaborative, and innovative work environment.
- Continuous professional development opportunities.
