Clinical Trial Manager - Oncology (Late Development)

Location: Home-based, UK

As a Clinical Trial Manager within our client's Late Development Oncology team, you will play a critical role in leading the operational delivery of global clinical studies, ensuring the successful execution of complex oncology programmes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and patient safety.

What You Will Do

As a Clinical Trial Manager, you will provide operational leadership across all phases of study delivery, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clinical trials are executed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of clinical trial activities, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and key study milestones.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement study-specific operational plans, processes, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investigators, study sites, vendors, and key stakeholders to support successful study outcomes.
  • Monitor study progress, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continued operational excellence.
  • Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines, protocol requirements, and all applicable local and international regulatory standards.
  • Oversee vendor performance and contribute to vendor selection, management, and governance activities where appropriate.
  • Drive issue resolution and support critical decision-making related to study conduct, quality, and operational delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on study progress, risks, and achievements.

About You

You are an experienced Clinical Trial Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering oncology clinical studies in a commercial clinical research environment. You combine strong operational expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the operational delivery of clinical trials and driving study outcomes against key performance indicators.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial regulations, ICH-GCP requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Experience working within a commercial pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment.
  • Prior clinical monitoring experience is advantageous.
  • Significant experience managing Oncology clinical trials, ideally within late-phase development programmes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
