The Clinical Resource Manager acts as a liaison between the organization and its volunteer workforce to assess, interview, and place qualified clinical candidates. This role also involves proactive workforce planning, collaborating with department leaders to address staffing needs, and ensuring alignment with organizational policies.

**Compensation range for this position is $72,800 to $ 83,200 This is a full-time, REMOTE position that requires domestic and international travel
Job Summary and Overview
The Resource Manager serves as a key clinical liaison between Mercy Ships and its volunteer workforce, ensuring that qualified and well-matched candidates are placed in critical roles. This role assesses volunteer applications, conducts interviews, makes selection decisions in collaboration with department leaders, and provides workforce planning and development support. The resource manager works closely with sector leaders to address staffing needs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment and Selection:
• Assess volunteer applications, conduct interviews, and make placement decisions in collaboration with department leaders.
• Provide clear and timely communication to volunteer applicants regarding selection decisions, ensuring a positive applicant experience.
• Maintain an understanding of the current talent pool to identify future placement opportunities.
• Coordinate with sector leaders to determine staffing needs, ensuring an optimal match of skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
• Advocate for staffing needs and collaborate with Recruiting to address workforce gaps.
Clinical Evaluation and Placement:
• Assess clinical skills of volunteer applicant along with appropriate date placement based off skill and staffing needs of the clinical department.
• Collaboration with department manager to determine clinical and staffing needs.
• Update and maintain job descriptions that assist in clinical skills requirements of volunteer applicants.
• Review clinically based scenario questions, currently on Spark hire, for appropriate clinical competency.
Workforce Planning and Development:
• Assess upcoming workforce needs and support proactive workforce planning efforts to ensure proper crew coverage.
• Provide input on workforce constraints and opportunities, including partnerships that support long-term staffing sustainability.
Engagement and Communication:
• Maintain strong relationships with functional clinical team leaders at all [MM1.1] locations to ensure workforce needs are met.
• Serve as a primary staffing liaison between department heads, sector leaders, and P&C.
• Respond to all emails, teams, and phone inquiries promptly and professionally.
Compliance and Policy Adherence:
• Maintain up to date knowledge of Mercy Ship policies and procedures related to volunteering, recruitment, and workforce management.
• Ensure that staffing decisions align with organizational policies and strategies.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all personnel matters.
Organizational Alignment and Compliance:
• Maintains alignment and upholds Mercy Ships Core Values, Code of Conduct, and follows the policies and procedures published on Compass.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience in clinical care of patients
• Understanding clinical competence and skill and the importance of staffing in relation to skill.
• Experience in workforce planning, talent acquisition, HR, or volunteer management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in interviewing, evaluating candidates, and making staffing decisions.
• Decision making and problem solving in staffing-related challenges.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to analyze workforce trends and develop strategic staffing plans.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing operational environment.
• Ability to analyze workforce needs and develop strategies to address talent gaps.
• Familiarity with Mercy Ships’ mission, policies, and operational needs is preferred.
Education and/or Experience
• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent working experience preferred.
• Experience in interviewing, evaluating candidates, and making placement or hiring decisions.
• Mercy Ships hospital volunteer experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
• Registered Nurse with active license in home country preferred
