• Employment Term: Maximum Term to 30 June 2027 | Full-Time (38 hours per week)
• Location: Longreach and will include travel & overnight in rural and remote locations.
• Remuneration: $46.70 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take-home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

As a Child and Family Remote Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and families in rural and remote communities through our Remote Area Families Service (RAFS). Based in Longreach, you’ll provide mobile services that strengthen family wellbeing and support children’s learning and development.

You’ll travel to remote communities to build meaningful relationships with children, families and local stakeholders. You’ll deliver evidence-based programs that promote child development and family wellbeing, helping children prepare for learning and life. You’ll deliver mobile early childhood development and family support programs for children from birth to 12 years and their families. This includes facilitating playgroups, workshops and community education; connecting families with information, advice and referral pathways; maintaining accurate case records; and building trusted relationships with communities and local stakeholders.

Approximately 60% of your working hours will involve travel and overnight stays in rural and remote locations.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support children and families to achieve positive outcomes
• Deliver early childhood development and family support programsFacilitate workshops, playgroups and community education activities
• Build strong relationships with families, community organisations and First Nations communities
• Travel throughout regional and remote Queensland as part of a mobile service delivery model
• Work with a supportive team that values innovation, collaboration and continuous learning

What you’ll bring?

We're looking for a passionate and adaptable professional who enjoys working autonomously, building community connections and making a genuine difference.

• Hold a tertiary qualification, or enrolled in Children's Services, Community Services, Counselling or a related discipline
• Experience working with children, families and communities in early childhood education, community services or a related field
• Strong understanding of child development and family support practicesExperience facilitating programs, workshops or group activities
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
• A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice
• A current Queensland driver’s license
• A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
