About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Camunda and Java engineer focused on building and integrating workflows. You will work hands-on with Camunda and backend technologies to design, develop, and operate workflow solutions that integrate with our systems and cloud platforms.
You will focus on:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining workflows and decision models in Camunda 8.
- Building backend services, job workers, and connectors that implement business logic and integrations.
- Integrating workflows with APIs, messaging, and microservices to ensure seamless end-to-end processes.
- Ensuring that workflows are reliable, observable, secure, and performant in our cloud and on-prem environments.
- Building AI into workflows by using Camunda agents and exploring AI frameworks and services that can be connected as agents.
Requirements:
Primary (Camunda and workflow development):
- Proven experience working with Camunda BPM and/or Camunda 8.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing workflows and decision models in BPMN and DMN.
- Proficiency with Camunda Modeler and core concepts such as job workers and connectors.
- Experience developing and implementing Camunda job workers and connectors as part of workflow solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimise process execution and performance within the Camunda ecosystem.
- Understanding of Camunda components such as Operate, Optimize and OpenSearch, and how to use them for monitoring, analysis and optimisation of workflows.
Secondary (backend, integration, cloud):
- Strong Java and Spring Boot skills, with experience designing, building, testing and documenting REST APIs.
- Experience with microservices, SOA and event-driven integrations using tools such as RabbitMQ, IBM MQ or Kafka.
- Good SQL and database knowledge, plus a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Working knowledge of AWS or other PaaS platforms, containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
