Labcorp is seeking a remote Business Relationship Manager to join our team!

Work Schedule: This is a full‑time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a 2nd shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM IST – 8:30 PM IST in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and leads business requirements and priorities for assigned areas.

  • Understands business processes and priorities. Evaluates and makes technology recommendations to enhance business operations

  • Recognizes business strategies for his/her business group. Demonstrates working knowledge of industry and trends; uses this information to maintain continuous improvement. Pre-project business solution design

  • Creates and maintains a relationship with internal technology teams and external technology vendors

  • Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency

  • Develop long-range technology strategies, maintaining the IT Roadmap which ties to the Business imperatives

  • Understanding where compliance & regulatory compliance are needed.

Team Development and Mentorship

  • The BRM needs to work effectively with peers in all aspects of the IT organization (Global Applications, PMO, Resource management, Architecture, Service Delivery and Operations, Infrastructure build) bringing together a virtual team to coordinate the overall delivery of the technology solutions to the business.

  • Virtual management of 4-6 peers within the IT organization and 3-4 business customers.

  • May line manages an internal team of 3-4 analysts

Technical Oversight

  • Build and maintain a solid relationship with the user community

  • Understands business processes and priorities

  • Coordinates and partners with the business on how to work with IT and ensures that business projects follow the IT governance process.

  • Provide due diligences toward answering general technology / systems questions from the user community

  • Teams with senior leadership, applications development group and /or suppliers to ensure a timely, accurate and cost-effective IT solutions

  • Provides recommendations to technology business requirements, business objectives, budgets and timelines.

  • Plans, organizes and leads business needs/requirements and priorities for assigned areas.

  • Pre-project business solution design and guidance of project through the IT governance processes.

  • Evaluates alternative vendor and technology solutions and participates in making technology recommendations to enhance business operations.   Participates in make / buy recommendations.

  • Leads the development of functional business requirements and helps the business assess relative priorities for technology solutions

  • Partners with the business to develop user process maps, user test plans and training materials associated with technology solutions.  Participates in training and user test processes.

  • Provide support to the Applications Development team in regard to discretionary and non-discretionary business development requests.

  • Assist in Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 8 or more years of Business / functional and/or IT experience

  • 2 or more years Project management experience preferred

  • 2 or more years of experience in working with external vendors / suppliers

  • 2 or more years of experience managing virtual team.

Additional Job Standards

  • Documented ability to work in a large clinical development business with a highly matrixed organizational structure and basic understanding of the Drug Development process

  • Experience of managing offshore sourcing providers

  • Prior experience of working in big Pharma preferred

  • Good understanding of the Ph2-4 business processes and challenges.

  • Strong IT, operational, financial and strategic planning and/or development experience

  • Experience working in a global and multicultural organization, including working across national and international boundaries.

  • Skilled in performing presentations and leading meetings.

  • Strong time management, planning and budgeting experience is needed.

  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Ability to provide leadership and training to others

  • Creative approach to resolving technical issues, and balancing business needs with compliance requirements

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to command respect of the organization

  • Demonstrates self-motivation to lead global teams on business strategies and achievement of department goals, objectives, and initiatives

About the Role

Business Relationship Manager will be Reporting directly to an Executive Director, this person is responsible for identifying new IT solutions and delivery options that can maximize value to the business, help lower business unit operating costs and optimize the total cost of ownership for business unit IT systems.  Based on a sound knowledge of the business unit processes, major platforms and applications, the person will work with the business unit to identify solution paths and build consensus towards preferred solutions.  Forming a strong partnership with the business users and other IT teams, this person will be required to communicate effectively across many different levels and disciplines both internally and externally. They will be responsible for defining high level scope (requirements, justification, resource/cost estimates and schedule) for new IT opportunities. Working closely with Business Unit IT Executive Director they will help with the prioritization of new project demands against the ongoing project portfolio.  They will ensure the project portfolio is effectively managed and kept up to date and assist in the preparation and smooth running of the Business Unit IT Steering Committee (BUITSC). 

The person should be constantly keeping abreast of industry software trends, and monitoring the evolution of the existing key operating platforms used within the business unit with a view to be optimizing upgrade schedules in line with business demands and needs. They will be a key interface with external suppliers to facilitate the forward-thinking strategy of platform evolutions. In addition, they should maintain a strong working knowledge of IT capabilities in particular Business Analysis and High-Level Design.
