The Business Analyst will gather and document business and functional requirements for back-office tolling systems. They will collaborate with Product Managers, development, and QA teams to ensure specifications align with customer expectations throughout the SDLC.
Business Analyst – Transportation and Tolling Industry (Remote)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a background in the tolling or transportation industries to join our Adaptation team. This permanent, full-time role supports enhancements to back‑office tolling systems by gathering requirements, documenting functional specifications, and coordinating with development and QA teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements using feedback from Product Managers, clients, industry experts, competitive analysis, customer contracts, and industry publications.
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders to understand business needs and document requirements logically using standard templates and methodologies.
- Collaborate with Product Managers/Project Managers to prioritize and document business requirements.
- Work closely with Development and Test teams to ensure functional specifications align with business requirements and customer expectations.
- Supports development team with other technical documentation.
- Obtain approval of business requirements and design documents from customers.
- Document non-functional requirements such as security, performance, and scalability.
- Support the development team with technical documentation and coordinate with QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing.
- Track and document changes to functional and business specifications.
- Assist in creating user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
- Oversee project schedules and coordinate with third-party/external partners as needed.
- Monitor and document post-implementation issues and revision requests.
- Manage tickets, stories, and bugs in the JIRA/DevOps ticketing system, and prioritize tasks with the Scrum Master.
- Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, certification in PMI-Business Analysis is a plus
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably in tolling or transportation back‑office systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience with Agile/Scrum, Software Development Life Cycle, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and technical documentation
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions from technical and abstract information.
