Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst (BA) to bridge the gap between business needs and both technology and non-technology solutions. The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical/non-technical teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, evaluate alternative solutions, exercise independent judgement in assessing business impacts and risks, and develop recommendations that influence operational priorities, process design and technology solutions. This role is critical in ensuring that business objectives are clearly defined, documented, and translated into functional and technical requirements that enable successful project and product outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document requirements using interviews, workshops, process flows, and other techniques.
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with business goals.
  • Manage requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Independently evaluate competing business requirements and determine appropriate requirement prioritization recommendations based on business value, risk, and operational impact.

Process Analysis & Improvement

  • Assess current business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop process models, gap analyses, and “as-is” vs. “to-be” documentation.
  • Evaluate alternative business and technology solutions and develop recommendations regarding process design, implementation approaches, operational efficiencies, and business outcomes.
  • Conduct business impact assessments and risk analyses to support organizational decision-making.
  • Recommend solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve user experience.
  • Support organizational change management by documenting impacts and assisting in adoption planning.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between business units, product owners, and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and cross-functional discussions.
  • Provide clear, concise documentation including business requirements, functional specs, process diagrams, and user guides.
  • Support testing efforts by clarifying requirements, reviewing test cases, and validating test results.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and business impact analyses to senior leadership, project sponsors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making discussions by providing independent analysis of business risks, tradeoffs, and operational impacts.

Project & Product Support

  • Partner with Project Managers and Product Owners to prioritize requirements and manage scope.
  • Contribute to project planning by providing effort estimates, dependencies, and requirement readiness.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by coordinating with business stakeholders and validating deliverables.
  • Track and manage requirement changes, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with industry trends, business analysis practices, and relevant technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of BA standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior analysts or team members where applicable.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT, product development, or process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements gathering techniques and process modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be amenable to work on graveyard shift

 

Preferred: 

  • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or other BA certification.
  • Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Exposure to data analysis, SQL, or BI/reporting tools.
  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Industry-specific knowledge (ecommerce, promotional products, or relevant domain).
