Requirements
As a Barkera Breed-Specific Veterinary Advisor, you'll have the opportunity to contribute in ways that align with your interests, expertise, and availability.
You may choose to:
- Review educational content for medical accuracy.
- Help develop Breed-Specific Owner Guides.
- Participate in webinars, podcasts, interviews, or live Q&A sessions.
- Create educational content, articles and videos and more.
- Contribute to preventative health resources.
- Help educate owners on breed-specific nutrition, genetics, development, disease prevention, and lifelong wellness.
- Collaborate with breeders, trainers, nutritionists, behaviorists, researchers, scientists and fellow veterinarians.
- Participate in future research, innovation, and educational initiatives.
There is no expectation that every veterinarian participates in every project. We value meaningful contributions of all sizes.
Flexible Opportunities
One of the things that makes Barkera unique is flexibility.
Some veterinarians may contribute a few hours each month by reviewing educational materials.
Others may enjoy writing articles, participating in interviews, speaking at events, mentoring pet owners, or helping shape future educational programs.
You decide how involved you'd like to be.
Both remote and in-person opportunities are available depending on your location, interests, and availability.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking veterinarians who:
- Hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Maintain an active veterinary license in good standing.
- Have a passion for preventative medicine and lifelong wellness.
- Enjoy educating and empowering pet owners.
- Appreciate collaboration across multiple disciplines.
- Are excited about improving breed-specific education.
Experience creating educational content, public speaking, writing, or participating in research is welcomed but not required.
