The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing accounts payable and receivable for U.S.-based clients. They will also prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, and assist with period-end closing activities.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our U.S.-based clients. The ideal candidate has a solid background in bookkeeping, is highly organized, and has prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based clients. You should be comfortable managing financial records independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and issue invoices accurately and on time.
- Record, categorize, and reconcile expenses to ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Process payroll or assist with payroll administration when required.
- Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting standards.
- Communicate professionally with U.S.-based clients regarding bookkeeping matters.
- Maintain organized and confidential financial documentation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proven experience working remotely with U.S.-based clients is required.
- Strong understanding of U.S. bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (required); experience with Xero or other accounting software is a plus.
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting multiple U.S. businesses or clients.
- Experience with payroll processing and sales tax reporting.
- Familiarity with U.S. accounting standards and financial reporting.
