HNO6011-Biopsychosocial and Cultural Perspectives in Mental Health

As an experienced online educator, the candidate will work as an independent contractor of LINC Education to offer online facilitation services for students studying in the Masters of Mental Health (Online) offered by Victoria University Online. Candidate must possess strong knowledge of interrelationship between physical health, comorbidities, and socio-economic factors. They should be able to support students in critically evaluating care coordination and planning approaches for complex mental health and social needs, while applying ethical, evidence-based practices to ensure culturally sensitive and holistic care.

Desired Candidate Profile 

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife (AHPRA registration) or Registered Mental Health Practising Nurse and knowledge of unit content.

  • PhD and/or Master Degree in Nursing or relevant field (i.e. health-related) plus 5 years' relevant teaching, research and/or professional experience at the PG level in the last 10 years

  • Full rights to work within Australia.

  • An Australian Business Number or ABN as a sole trader, or of the entity that will contract with LINC.

  • Empathetic, ambitious, warm and outgoing personality willing to work closely with people from diverse cultures; 

  • Proficient in English language; excellent oral and written communication

  • Must possess  a working laptop and have access to high-speed  (>10 MBPS) stable internet connection; 

  • Ability to quickly learn and use technology platforms for interacting with students, including the host university’s LMS and LINCtrac (training on these platforms will be provided).


The candidate needs to be available between 5 pm to 10 pm every day.


Roles & Responsibilities 

LINC Fellows will be responsible for providing: 

  1. Subject matter guidance to a group of 25-30 postgraduate students;  

  2. Support in learning skills like academic writing, research and time management; 

  3. 1:1 academic support sessions; 

  4. Guidance on relevant reference material; 

  5. Assessment marking with long-form feedback 

  6. Management of discussion forums; and

  7. Proactive, prompt and personalised support to student queries and issues.


LINC Fellows will be expected to promptly interact with students over email, or calls / online sessions from locations of their convenience (e.g. home, office etc.).
