The Bill Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of workers' compensation medical bills and invoices in accordance with BWC guidelines. They also provide customer service support to healthcare providers, attorneys, and injured workers regarding billing inquiries.
Job Summary: The Bill Processor is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of workers' compensation medical bills, invoices, and reconsiderations in accordance with Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) guidelines. This position reviews and enters billing information, maintains quality and productivity standards, and collaborates with internal departments to resolve billing issues. The Bill Processor also provides customer service and support to healthcare providers, attorneys, and injured workers regarding bill payment inquiries. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail,knowledgeofworkers'compensationbillingpractices,dataentryproficiency,confidentiality,andacommitmenttodeliveringexcellentcustomerservice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a High School education or comparable work experience
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Working knowledge of Bureau of Workers Compensation policies and procedures as they relate to bill payment
Working knowledge of ICD and CPT codes as they relate to Workers Compensation Injuries
Coding certification would be plus but not required
Excellent written and communication skills
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Experience with various computer programs and data entry skills
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports directly to the Operations Manager or the Billing Team Leader
Process incoming bills/invoices and reconsiderations that are received by fax, mail or electronically within the timeframes as set by the Bureau of Workers Compensation
Required to meet all quality and production requirements
Maintain communication between the billing department and other areas of the Managed Care Organization to resolve billing issues
Provide customer service for bill related calls from providers, attorneys and Injured Workers
Assist with other departments as needed to facilitate the Managed Care Organization’s work flow
