Endless Studios is on a mission to revolutionize game development—and education—by empowering the next generation of creators through real-world, open collaboration. We're building Endstar, our platform for collaborative, community-powered game development. To make this vision real, we’re looking for a senior backend game and systems engineer to architect and scale the infrastructure that powers it all.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a platform at the intersection of game development, open-source collaboration, and AI-enhanced workflows.

What You’ll Do

Architect, build, and maintain the backend infrastructure for the Endstar platform

Design scalable systems for collaborative content creation, version control, and multiplayer gameplay logic

Integrate AI-assisted workflows and tooling into game and platform development pipelines

Work closely with frontend, game, and design teams to ensure seamless integration of tools and systems

Contribute to open-source projects and help build a thriving contributor community around the platform

Mentor junior engineers and student contributors participating in our global network

Who You Are

Veteran Game Engineer: 10+ years of experience shipping high-quality games at world-class studios

Systems Architect: Deep expertise in designing scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems (preferably in games or creative platforms)

Open Source Champion: Fluent in open development models; you’ve contributed to or maintained open-source projects

AI-Driven: Actively exploring AI and its impact on tools, game development, and collaborative creation workflows

Builder at Heart: Comfortable in fast-moving environments where the right answer doesn’t exist yet

Preferred Tech Stack

Backend: Node.js, Python, Go, or similar

Infrastructure: AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms

Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, Firebase, or similar

Bonus: Experience with multiplayer backends, server-authoritative architecture, and real-time collaboration tools
