AUTOMATION ENGINEER, ENTRY LEVEL

Location: India | Remote

Schedule: Full-Time

The Automation Engineer, Entry Level is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable automation solutions that eliminate repetitive manual work and improve efficiency across engineering and business operations. This role will work closely with the EVS Labs team, software developers, business stakeholders, and AI engineering leadership to build intelligent workflows, enterprise integrations, and reusable automation capabilities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design and develop automation solutions that eliminate repetitive manual work across engineering and business operations.
• Automate document generation, proposal creation, reporting, calculations, and data movement between enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain integrations across Microsoft 365 applications and other enterprise platforms.
• Build scalable automation workflows using APIs, cloud services, scripting, and modern automation frameworks.
• Own automation projects from concept and requirements gathering through deployment, monitoring, and long-term support.
• Create reusable automation components and frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple teams and projects.
• Develop integrations between EVS internal software platforms and external enterprise applications, including:
  • CRM systems
  • ERP systems
  • Project management platforms
  • GIS systems
  • Engineering software
  • Internal databases
• Build and maintain REST API integrations and automated data workflows between systems.
• Develop reusable services that become foundational components for future EVS products.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with the AI Engineering Lead to incorporate AI capabilities into workflow automation.
• Develop workflows utilizing:
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Document ingestion pipelines
  • Knowledge indexing
  • Vector databases
  • Prompt engineering
  • LLM APIs
• Develop AI-powered solutions for document processing, summarization, classification, and information extraction.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical, high-value applications within EVS.
• Help integrate intelligent automation capabilities into EVS workflows and software products.
• Develop cloud-native automation solutions using modern cloud technologies and services.
• Deploy and maintain production-ready solutions using modern DevOps and software development practices.
• Work closely with Full Stack Developers to integrate automation services into EVS software products.
• Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Support source control, testing, deployment, documentation, and long-term maintainability of automation solutions.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions for EVS software products.
• Contribute automation capabilities that become reusable features within EVS products and platforms.
• Work alongside the broader EVS Labs team to deliver integrated technical solutions.
• Assist with testing, technical documentation, user training, and production rollout.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and business teams to ensure automation solutions meet operational needs.
• Analyze engineering and business workflows to identify high-impact automation opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Measure and report efficiency improvements resulting from automation initiatives.
• Continuously identify new opportunities to improve workflows through automation and emerging technologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Two to four years of experience in software development, automation engineering, system integration, cloud development, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience with Python.
• Experience integrating applications through REST APIs.
• Experience automating Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as S3, EC2, CloudWatch, and related technologies.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high standards for quality and reliability.
• Experience with C#, .NET, or VBA is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge or hands-on experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • AI document ingestion pipelines
  • Embedding models
  • Semantic search
  • Vector databases
  • LLM integrations
  • Prompt engineering
  • AI workflow orchestration
  • Intelligent document processing
• Experience developing enterprise workflow automation solutions is preferred.
• Experience integrating cloud services, internal applications, and third-party enterprise platforms is preferred.
• Experience working with engineering, GIS, CRM, ERP, or project management systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and production application support is a plus.
