AutoCAD & BIM Consultant (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD & BIM Consultant based in the Philippines to work remotely with an Australian client across architecture, engineering, construction and building-design projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with Australian architects, engineers, project managers, builders and consultants to develop, maintain and coordinate 2D drawings, 3D models and BIM documentation.

This is a fully work-from-home role in the Philippines, with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, communication and the ability to work independently while collaborating with an Australian-based project team.

Key Responsibilities

AutoCAD & Technical Drafting

• Prepare accurate 2D architectural, structural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  
• Develop detailed construction drawings, documentation and drawing sets.
  
• Update drawings based on design changes, RFIs, site information and engineering instructions.
  
• Maintain drawing standards, layers, blocks, templates and title blocks.
  
• Produce plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules.
  
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance with project requirements.
  
• Assist with quantity take-offs and documentation where required.
  

BIM Modelling & Documentation

• Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit and/or other BIM platforms.
  
• Create architectural, structural and MEP models as required by the project.
  
• Develop BIM families, components and parametric content.
  
• Extract drawings, schedules and documentation from BIM models.
  
• Maintain model integrity and ensure drawings remain coordinated with the model.
  
• Perform model reviews and identify clashes, inconsistencies and coordination issues.
  
• Support BIM coordination between architectural, structural and services disciplines.
  
• Follow the client's BIM standards, naming conventions and documentation requirements.
  

Coordination

• Coordinate drawings and BIM models across multiple disciplines.
  
• Identify clashes and design inconsistencies before construction.
  
• Participate in online coordination meetings with Australian project teams.
  
• Incorporate comments and revisions from architects, engineers and project managers.
  
• Maintain drawing/model revision control.
  
• Coordinate with external consultants and subcontractors where required.
  

Australian Project Support

• Work according to Australian project documentation standards and client procedures.
  
• Develop an understanding of relevant Australian building and construction requirements.
  
• Support projects across residential, commercial, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
  
• Ensure documentation is suitable for Australian construction and approval processes.
  
• Work closely with Australian stakeholders and communicate clearly regarding project progress, issues and technical queries.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• 3+ years of professional experience in AutoCAD drafting/design.
  
• Strong experience with AutoCAD.
  
• Practical experience with BIM, preferably using Revit.
  
• Experience producing construction/documentation drawings.
  
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
  
• Strong understanding of construction documentation.
  
• Experience coordinating drawings/models across disciplines.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  
• Excellent written and spoken English.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  
• Ability to work with Australian clients and accommodate Australian working hours.
  

Preferred

• Experience working with Australian architecture, engineering or construction companies.
  
• Experience with Australian construction documentation standards.
  
• Knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
  
• Experience with residential, commercial, industrial or fit-out projects.
  
• Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  
• Experience with Navisworks.
  
• Experience with clash detection and BIM coordination.
  
• Experience with Bluebeam.
  
• Experience with SketchUp, Rhino or other 3D modelling tools.

Working Hours

The consultant will work Philippines-based hours aligned with the Australian client's requirements.

Typical arrangement:

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Australian Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, subject to the client's project requirements and daylight-saving changes.

Some flexibility may be required for project meetings, deadlines and coordination sessions.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Design, Drafting or a related discipline.
