What You Can Expect
The Social Media Associate Director leads Zimmer Biomet's corporate social media strategy and day-to-day execution, translating enterprise, brand and product priorities into compliant, audience-relevant channel plans. This role manages content governance, editorial planning, agency support, analytics and cross-functional coordination to strengthen brand visibility, support external campaigns and protect reputation across social platforms in a highly regulated MedTech environment.
How You'll Create Impact
- Leads corporate social media strategy and channel plans aligned to external communications, brand and business priorities.
- Owns the editorial calendar, publishing cadence and content standards for key corporate social channels.
- Develops and optimizes audience-relevant content for healthcare professionals, patients, media and other external stakeholders.
- Partners with product communications, marketing, medical education, HR, investor relations and other functions to translate priorities into effective social campaigns.
- Guides social media support for executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives, particularly on LinkedIn.
- Manages agency and vendor partners for content development, community support, analytics and campaign execution, as applicable.
- Establishes practical workflows, review standards and channel governance that enable timely execution in a regulated environment.
- Coordinates with legal, regulatory and medical review partners to ensure social content meets applicable policies and approval requirements.
- Monitors platform trends, channel performance and competitive activity to recommend improvements in format, cadence and targeting.
- Tracks and reports performance metrics, translating insights into recommendations that improve reach, engagement and business relevance.
- Supports issues and crisis response on social channels in alignment with broader external communications guidance and escalation protocols.
- Coaches internal contributors on social media best practices, brand voice and platform-appropriate storytelling.

Education and Experience
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 6 years relevant experience, or Associate's degree and 8 years relevant experience, or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
- 7+ years experience in social media, digital communications, corporate communications or related fields with progressive responsibility preferred
- Experience managing enterprise or corporate social media channels, editorial calendars and integrated content programs preferred
- Experience supporting executive social presence, issue response or reputation-focused communications preferred
- Experience in MedTech, life sciences, healthcare or another highly regulated industry preferred
- Experience working with agency partners and cross-functional review teams preferred
Travel Expectations
- Rare to occasional overnight domestic or international travel up to 10% annually.
