Summary:

Provide expert modeling, AI, and programming capabilities to GHEOR TA teams. Deliver / execute market level CE model adaptations using the BMS GHEOR EAI Generative AI tool suite. Execute early economic models for pipeline decision making. Lead automation workstreams using AI methods. Highly competent matrix collaborator. Active membership and reviewing within the Model Protocol Review Committee.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop best in class innovative HTA methodology that ensures optimum access for BMS portfolio including (but not limited to) advancing MAx AI capabilities that increase speed to patient and/or reduced operating costs.

  • Lead the BMS external strategy to evolve payer/HTA agency methodology in the assessment of the value of BMS portfolio.

  • Act as scientific leader to MAx in the latest modeling methodology that optimizes the assessment of BMS assets

  • Horizon scan latest advances in HTA methodology from academia, payers and competitors embedding key learnings

  • Partner with GHEOR asset leads and BMS affiliates to implement the MAx AI based model adaptations program – work effectively with BMS internal EAI contractor team

  • Deliver structural updates to economic models

  • Provide expert level support in development of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models in collaboration with cross-functional local, regional and global teams

  • Provide early HEOR analytics to inform pricing strategies for CE archetypes as requested

  • Provide modelling input to Value Story development and updates

  • Interpret clinical studies results and plan additional statistical analyses needed for core models and model adaptations, including indirect treatment comparisons

  • Engage in timely and effective communication to HTA and reimbursement authorities as requested / required by matrix teams

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree (PhD) or Master’s (MSc) in health economics or related relevant discipline

  • 10 years of health economics and outcomes research experience

  • Experience using Visual Basic, and software including R, Python, OPEN BUGS and JAGs, ideally with the ability to program, interpret and modify existing code as needed

  • Lead projects as the subject matter expert, providing strategic direction and expertise while overseeing execution and ensuring successful outcomes

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Successful application of model development, HTA experience and innovative methods shaping – including published research in these disciplines

  • Basic understanding of generative AI techniques and tools to automate HEOR & Access workflows, with a strong focus on minimizing risks such as biases and inaccuracies

  • Experienced in developing and adapting health economic models for use in reimbursement submissions to HTA authorities worldwide

  • Experience working with payers and other consumers of health economic information

  • Knowledge of epidemiology, economics, relative effectiveness assessment and medical writing

  • Experience working across a broad matrix of internal functions

  • Strong experience in Excel, R and/or Python and VBA

  • Experience with OpenBUGS and/or WinBUGS and/or JAGS is preferred

  • Prior consulting experience is preferred

  • Business travel for key Congresses and various internal/external engagements is required

Compensation Overview:

Field - United States - US: $166,940 - $202,292

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
