We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Associate to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert legal support to alternative asset managers and financing providers, drafting and negotiating M&A pipeline documentation and adjacent transactional matters. Key Responsibilities

As an Associate at Scissero, your main responsibilities will include:

Drafting and negotiating M&A pipeline documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, offer letters, consulting agreements, reliance/non-reliance letters, financial advisory and indemnity letters, and other engagement letters;

Directly counselling clients, providing valuable real-world legal experience;

Monitoring project timelines, communicating updates to clients, and maintaining strong organisational control over legal workflows;

Supporting the drafting, reviewing, and management of legal documentation for corporate transactions;

Ensuring strict adherence to legal compliance and regulations; and

Engaging with the development team and employing legal technology tools to boost the efficiency and precision of legal services.

Skills and Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in law;

Qualification to practice law in applicable jurisdiction (not mandatory);

Fluency in English, including the ability to explain legal concepts in English to non-lawyers;

International legal experience (academic and/or professional);

Experience as a transactional lawyer within an international corporate law/M&A setting;

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving acumen;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team on a remote/global basis.

Nice-to-Have

Prior experience advising alternative asset managers, private equity, or private credit/financing providers;

Familiarity with legal technology tools (e.g., contract automation, AI-assisted drafting, or document review platforms);

Experience working within a remote, globally distributed team across multiple time zones;

Fluency in an additional language relevant to APAC markets - not essential but an added bonus (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, or Cantonese) ; and

An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping shape processes at a growing, tech-forward legal services company.
