Summary of Job Duties:
*This is a temporary position*The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) welcomes applications from candidates who desire to be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Qualifications:
M.D. or equivalent degree required.
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certified or eligible for certification in Psychiatry, with the expectation of becoming certified as per the UAMS bylaws.
Eligibility for and subsequent success in obtaining an unrestricted Arkansas medical license, malpractice insurance, and credentialing by central Arkansas teaching hospitals are required.
Successful candidates will be excellent clinicians as well as outstanding teachers or researchers, able to work collaboratively, and enjoy being part of a team that is accomplishing more than any individual can accomplish.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows
Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Providing excellent clinical care, including evidence-based psychiatric diagnostic assessment and treatment
Completing medical records according to professional standards and in a timely manner using the UAMS EMR system
Performing additional duties to the College, University, and profession as assigned.
