Architectural Sales Engineer
Landscape Architectural Site Furnishings & Engineered Rooftop Planting Systems
About Us
We are a design-driven manufacturer of landscape architectural site furnishings and engineered modular planting systems for commercial developments, rooftop terraces, amenity decks, and mixed-use environments. We offer custom design development and manufacturing of landscape architectural products including pergolas, outdoor kitchens, modular planting systems and public art.
Our work goes beyond standard planters and site elements. We engineer fully integrated systems that combine:
- Custom planters
- Fire and water features
- Integrated seating
- Lighting and audio integration
- Guardrails
- Structural attachment systems
- Wind uplift performance
- Saturated soil containment and drainage performance
Our systems are often written into project specifications and require coordination across structural, architectural, waterproofing, and landscape disciplines.
Position Overview
We are building an elite extension of our Sales team by adding highly capable Architectural Sales Engineers to lead our most significant landmark projects and manage our very important architectural networks. This role is designed for a technical professional who understands the architectural sales evolution and can drive specification-based sales proposals from the design phase through the final award. We have a robust pipeline of projects where we have been specified or invited to provide proposals for the landscape portion of projects across the US.
This is not a transactional sales role; rather, it is a long-cycle, relationship-driven position that requires patience, technical credibility, and a deep understanding of the architectural sales evolution. You will be responsible for shepherding projects through the typical architectural building sales cycle (design development, construction documents, award), ensuring ORE’s solutions remain the lead specification from initial concept to final award.
You will work directly with:
- Architects and Landscape Architects (specification phase).
- ORE internal Design Development, CAD, Project Management and Scheduling Teams.
- General Contractors (bidding and construction).
- Specialty subcontractors (installation coordination).
Your primary objective is to get our systems specified as Basis of Design and shepherd projects through the bidding cycles with General contractors and bidding installing contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Specification & Design Phase
- Influence architects and landscape architects to specify our systems in design documents.
- Consult with the internal ORE team for technical guidance on structural attachment, wind uplift, and load performance.
- Coordinate with custom detailing and integration into project drawings with our internal design team.
- Partner with the ORE Estimating team for take-offs and review of architectural and structural plans for pricing.
- Collaborate with the ORE Design Development team to develop project-specific system solutions.
Technical Support & Engineering Coordination
- Analyze complex architectural and structural drawings to identify project needs.
- Communicate performance criteria (wind, structural, irrigation, and drainage) by bringing in internal experts from Design Development, Engineering and/or Estimating when technical reviews are required.
- Facilitate the integration of lighting, audio, seating, and guardrails into modular systems by collaborating with internal Design Development experts.
Sales & Pipeline Management
- Manage long-lead projects and the critical steps of the sales evolution (12–24-month cycles).
- Track projects from design development through construction using CRM NetSuite.
- Build and maintain relationships within the architect–GC–subcontractor triad.
- Deliver Lunch & Learn presentations and educational sessions on ORE products and systems.
- Must be able to achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
Required Experience
Industry Background
- 5+ years in architectural product sales, landscape architectural products, site furnishings, building envelope systems, structural systems, architectural metals, or related construction products.
- Demonstrated experience navigating the architectural sales evolution, getting products specified, and achieving award of project.

- Proven ability to lead landmark projects and maintain communication with architectural and GC networks.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
- Technical literacy with load-bearing systems or structurally attached products.
- Understanding of relevant codes (IBC, wind load requirements, performance standards).
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software to coordinate with internal Design Development and CAD teams.
- Experienced with CRM systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.).
Preferred Certifications
- LEED Accreditation.
- CSI Certification (CDT preferred).
