API & Canonical Model Engineer (Senior)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable REST APIs and backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain the Canonical Data Model and Core APIs for enterprise applications.
• Develop Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services and API Gateway integrations.
• Build secure read and write APIs using CQRS and distributed system design patterns.
• Implement business rules, eligibility, and personalization services.
• Develop practitioner/admin consoles with role-based access, workflows, and audit capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, high-performance, and scalable backend solutions.

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot microservices development.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with OpenAPI v3 (Contract-First API Design).
• Experience with API Gateway (Spring Cloud Gateway or similar).
• Strong knowledge of CQRS, Saga, Transactional Outbox, Idempotency, and Distributed Systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Kafka integration experience.
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, and Zero Trust Security.
• Experience with React or Angular.
• Experience building enterprise-grade microservices and backend applications.

Good to Have

• Experience designing Enterprise Canonical Data Models.
• Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture experience.
• Rules Engine / Expression Engine implementation.
• Experience with workflow, approval, or audit-based applications.
