About ANIME Impulse
ANIME Impulse is one of North America’s most vibrant pop culture festivals, celebrating the best of anime, gaming, cosplay, and digital creators. As part of the IMPULSE Universe family of live experiences (including K-PLAY! FEST and Collectors Expo), we create high-velocity events and brand activations that extend fandom far beyond the convention floor.

The Role
Are you passionate about creating unforgettable live experiences, fan activations, and stage shows for the anime and gaming community? We are seeking an energetic, organized, and creative Programming & Activities Intern to support our live event programming and community engagement efforts. In this hands-on role, you will help brainstorm, organize, and execute stage programs, fan-led activities, cosplay events, and interactive activations that make ANIME Impulse a fan-favorite festival.

What You’ll Do
  • Stage & Program Support: Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of main stage and secondary stage programming, including guest panels, Q&As, music performances, and opening/closing ceremonies.
  • Fan Activities & Interactive Games: Brainstorm, organize, and host interactive fan experiences, such as anime trivia contests, gaming tournaments, cosplay gatherings, live gameshows, and community workshops.
  • Talent Coordination: Work with the programming team to maintain panel schedules, collect guest presentation materials, prep stage run-of-show documents, and assist with guest line management during live programming.
  • Community Engagement: Keep a finger on the pulse of the fandom to identify what panels, activities, and interactive trends fans want to see most at upcoming events.
  • Onsite Event Operations: Serve as a core team member during show days, helping manage stage timelines, supporting stage managers, assisting performers, and resolving live programming needs on the fly.
Who You Are
  • Fandom Savvy: Deeply immersed in anime, gaming, cosplay, Asian pop culture, and convention culture. You know what drives community hype and what makes a panel or activity memorable.
  • Event-Minded & Organized: Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage timelines, keep schedules running smoothly, and stay composed in high-energy, fast-paced live event environments.
  • Enthusiastic Communicator: Comfortable interacting with fans, guest speakers, panelists, and stage performers with high energy and professionalism.
Bonus Points
  • Prior experience staffing, volunteering, or managing panels at fan conventions, esports tournaments, or pop-culture expos.
  • Basic understanding of stage management, AV/production equipment setups, or run-of-show documentation.
  • Experience hosting, MCing, or organizing community activities (e.g., esports tournaments, trivia nights, cosplay showcases).
