Analyst - Senior

Job Summary:

Conducts research and synthesizes information into clear written products in support of the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Maritime Law Enforcement Policy and the MSAFE Report to Congress. The Senior Analyst conducts open-source and agency-informed research, interviews subject matter experts, accurately summarizes findings, analyzes complex information, produces practical recommendations, appropriately handles sensitive interagency information, works collaboratively with the MSAFE Report to Congress Task Group, and converts fragmented agency inputs into a coherent final report.

Remote position. Proximity to DC metro area / USCGHQ preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Education - Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences or related field.

• Experience - Minimum of 6–8 years of professional experience in maritime policy, research, and analysis. Expertise analyzing sources of information and producing clear written reports is required as well as Technical review and writing experience.

Essential Duties: 

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

• Knowledge of marine fisheries legislation, particularly the Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement Act.
• Knowledge of maritime policy, research, and analysis
• Ability to conduct open-source and agency-informed research.
• Ability to collect, assess, synthesize, and present information from MSAFE agencies, subject matter experts, embassies, public sources, and other approved sources.
• Ability to analyze complex sources of information and produce clear written reports.
• Ability to interview subject matter experts and accurately summarize findings.
• Ability to develop practical recommendations based on research and analysis.
• Ability to appropriately handle sensitive interagency information.
• Ability to collaborate closely with Government and interagency stakeholders.
• Ability to integrate fragmented information and agency inputs into a cohesive final report.

Salary: The projected salary range for this position is $125,000-140,000 and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
