AmeriCorps Program and Compliance Coordinator

 

Supervisor: Reports to the Math Fellows Program Director (with functional accountability to Human Capital)l

Department: Program Team (in addition to the Program Team, this role will collaborate regularly with Blueprint’s Grant Writer, Blueprint’s Data Analyst and Human Capital Team). 

Location: Remote - US (Preference given to applicants living within proximity to our regional programs - Oakland, Phoenix Area, St. Louis, Washington DC)
Compensation: $22.00 to $29.00/hour; hourly placement within the range is commensurate with academic qualifications and professional experience relative to the core duties of the position. 

FLSA Status: Full-time; Non-exempt

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate Opening
 

NOTE:  This is a grant-funded position. Initial employment and continuation of employment beyond the end of the funding cycle is dependent on funding.

Founded in 2010, Blueprint Schools Network (“Blueprint”) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing educational equity and improving student outcomes. Blueprint partners with states, districts, and schools to design and implement evidence-based school improvement initiatives that help students thrive academically and beyond.

The Blueprint Math Fellows Program was developed from Blueprint’s research-based school improvement framework, which identifies the practices most strongly associated with student success. Central to this work is high-impact, small-group math instruction tailored to students’ individual learning needs. Since launching in 2010, the program has helped schools accelerate math achievement through data-driven tutoring and targeted academic support.

For more than a decade, Blueprint has partnered with AmeriCorps to expand educational opportunity through national service. As a national AmeriCorps direct grant recipient, Blueprint engages dedicated Math Fellows who provide high-impact tutoring while developing their own leadership and career pathways in education and service. 

Blueprint partners with public school districts and charter school networks in Oakland, CA; Phoenix, Yuma, Apache Junction, Sierra Vista, Hayden Winkleman and Miami, AZ; Saint Louis, MO; and Washington, DC to implement high-impact math tutoring programs that support students and schools. 

Position Summary

The AmeriCorps Program and Compliance Coordinator plays a central role in the successful implementation of Blueprint’s AmeriCorps program. This position oversees the day-to-day administration of the program, including member recruitment and enrollment, compliance monitoring, training, data management, and member engagement and communications.

The Coordinator ensures that all program activities align with AmeriCorps regulations and grant requirements while supporting a positive and meaningful experience for AmeriCorps members serving as Blueprint Math Fellows. This role collaborates closely with regional teams, Human Capital, Finance, and senior leadership to maintain strong operational systems, ensure program quality and promote the Blueprint Math Fellows AmeriCorps experience .

Key Responsibilities

Program Operations and Member Administration

  • Manage the full AmeriCorps member lifecycle, including outreach, interviewing, enrollment, onboarding, and exit procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential member records, including eligibility documentation, service agreements, and required compliance materials.
  • In collaboration with Blueprint’s Data Analyst, track and assess member service hours and timesheets to ensure members are on pace to fulfill their term of service requirements.
  • Provide recruitment support across all regions during peak seasons or as requested.
  • Create and facilitate onboarding training for AmeriCorps members regarding AmeriCorps requirements, any required updates, and time tracking requirements.
  • Assist members in navigating AmeriCorps systems and technology platforms.
  • Build and maintain online resources and tools to support members throughout their service term.
  • Purchase program materials and branded items in accordance with budget guidelines.

Compliance and Grant Management

  • Monitor program adherence to AmeriCorps regulations, including prohibited activities, service hour requirements, and member eligibility.
  • Conduct orientations and ongoing training on AmeriCorps rules, expectations, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AmeriCorps guidance, regulations, and policy updates and lead timely updates to applicable Blueprint team members and/or teams.
  • Draft, update, and maintain the AmeriCorps Program Manual and related policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Human Capital to ensure member-related policies and communications remain compliant with AmeriCorps requirements.
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership and support grant reporting and audit preparation.

Member Training and Support

  • Facilitate AmeriCorps orientation sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for AmeriCorps members, providing timely communication, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor member progress by conducting check-ins at least quarterly, with more frequent (e.g., monthly) meetings for members who need additional support or are not on track to meet service hour requirements. 
  • Partner with regional teams to identify and address member support needs.

Community Engagement, Service Projects & External Communications

  • Collaborate with regional teams to plan and coordinate member-led service projects that address local community needs.
  • Support national and local volunteer events, including AmeriCorps and other community service initiatives.
  • Collect stories, photos, and videos that highlight member impact and promote program visibility; partner with Blueprint’s Communications Intern to share this multimedia content across Blueprint’s social media accounts and alumni newsletters to build engagement and support for our AmeriCorps program. 

Data Tracking and Reporting

  • In collaboration with Blueprint’s Data Analyst, maintain detailed program records and tracking systems.
  • Collect and analyze program data, including service hours, participation metrics, and performance measures.
  • Prepare periodic reports for internal stakeholders and external funders.
  • Provide regular updates to the Leadership Team and Blueprint’s Grant Writer on program progress and compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in program coordination, project management, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred

  • Experience serving as an AmeriCorps member or working with an AmeriCorps program.
  • Experience facilitating training for adult learners.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Working Conditions

  • This non-exempt position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support training sessions, service projects, volunteer events, or other program activities. Work schedules may vary based on program needs. 
  • Limited travel may be required to attend meetings, trainings, or site visits.
